Calculated Fury allows rerolls of 1s on hit rolls “when resolving an attack made with a heavy weapon”. Does this include overwatch? I ask because other rules seem to spell out if you can do this. For instance the Master Artisan chapter tactic says “when this unit fires overwatch or is chosen to shoot with”.

Yes it does, unless the unit for some reason does not count as a heavy weapon when you're firing overwatch.

A unit does not count as a heavy weapon when firing overwatch.

Heavy weapons are still Heavy whenever they’re fired, even if the Phase requires a different hit roll. What are you on about p5freak?

That is not entirely true. When Necron sautekh units advance, they treat all ranged weapons they are equipped with as assault weapons, until the end of the turn. I have no idea what waaaghpower meant, but units never count as any weapon type.

A special rule elsewhere doesn’t change what I said about a core rules situation - special rules obviously change core rules temporarily. And units never count as a weapon. Again, what are you on about?

I can read, and understand what Waaagh meant. They meant yes it works, unless something makes weapon types not count in Overwatch. Weapon types don’t change unless special rules override. Irrelevant things were then brought in. Hopefully that wraps up this tangent.

Don't worry, p5freak is as often wrong as he's right, but still insists on word pendantics like BCB (who is almost always right with RAW).

Why are you asking me ? Ask waaaghpower what he means. I have no idea what he is talking about. What he said makes no sense. A unit doesnt count as a weapon.
