yes because being able to take 8 fething primarch level characters in a single list would be fair and balanced

If you think they are primarch level then i just have to laugh.. they arent even SM captain level..

SM's fans so funny
Phoenix Lords>>>>>>>>>>SM capitans and even chapter masters

except Pheonix Lords aren't particularly powerful in table top, and their fluff isn't anything special (so theyr're described as the greatest eldar warriors ever etc but every codex talks up their high end characters. Codex Space Marines says Calgar is the greatest stratigist short of Gulliman himself ever... but codex guard says that about Creed. and codex Blood Angels about Dante etc)

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

I don't know, Phoenix Lords probably die about as often as a Chapter Master for any particular Space Marine Chapter. They just recover the armor and pop in another Exarch.

In game, I'd be glad if they could stand up to a Chapter Master.

Maugan Ra:
During the 13th Black Crusade, Maugan Ra journeyed into the Eye of Terror and discovered that his Craftworld and its people had survived, even in the perilous domain of the Chaos Gods, and subsequently freed it from the Eye of Terror.

On the planet of Stormvald in the Segmentum Tempestus, Maugan-Ra stood alone against a Tyranid swarm from Hive Fleet Leviathan and single-handedly triumphed.

But Maugan Ra isn't from a Craftworld. He got dumped at a library and lived there until Asurmen found him like Batman finds Robins.

Except that Phoenix Lords are over 10 thousand years old. SM heroes, for example are maybe a thousand. Besides, being the greatest "whatever" since Guiliman isn't as big a deal when comparing to beings that predate him.

Further, Creed, Calgar, and most others are still physically the same thing as the generic. Creed is still a human. Calgar is still a Space Marine. They're just the best versions of such. One of the few ways PLs are like demons is that Exarchs and Phoenix Lords aren't still Eldar.

He still Phoenix Lord. And what does it mean not from Craftworld? https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Altansar

I mean in the Phoenix Lord novels they run into Maugan Ra who explains he was left at the library as a child and grew up there and only leaves when he goes with Asurmen and Jain Zar.
