Hey, looking to get a bit of feedback on a fairly fluffy list. I haven't played a lot yet and this is more to help me decide what to build towards while still being fun on the table!

Fairly obvious tactics - wall of armour moving up the field with the Praetor and Firedrakes in the Caestus to wreck someones day
Pyroclasts + Apothecaries push up to claim objectives and resist the counter with a wall of flamers, as well as allowing the Proteus lascannons to do some damage to armour
Tacticals hanging back to gain points on objectives with the rhinos offering some mobility and the occasional mc melta shot to pick off some damage
Sicaran can add firepower and pick apart targets as well as using it's speed to support other units

Few options -
Dropping the Apothecaries in the Pyroclast squads for a Primus Medicae in with the Firedrakes, it would make them incredibly hard to put down but I like supporting the Pyroclasts to make them that little bit more sticky on objectives.
Dropping 1 Firedrake for 1 more Pyroclast in each squad, not sure how I feel on this one - the wounds are safer behind a 3++ and it adds killing power to the squad to stop them getting bogged down as much. However more bodies in the Pyroclasts would make better use of the FnP as well as making them harder to shift

I'd like a few more points to put MM's on the Proteus' or give the Tac Sergeants fists, but the only change I could see to get it was to drop AC on the Proteus which feels more important if they are getting right in the opponents face!

Just realised that the Caestus has to start in reserves which you cannot do with CoF... Time to rethink!

Yeah CoF prevents any deepstrike. Looks like you needs a Spartan for those Drakes now.

Yeah unfortunately you can't take the Caestus. Which is a crying shame because the Ram in a Salamanders flamey paint job looks ace. Get a Spartan for the Drakes and the list is pretty good.

As fluffy as Pyros are you may want to consider doing support squads instead. More bodies and more weapons. Or proxy the Pyros for heavy flamer squad?

Yeah, I love the Caestus as a model but it just doesn't work with Salamanders rules and I was really looking for something that isn't a Spartan despite the playstyle and rules for the 18th suiting it perfectly!

Current reworking - lot of odd choices in this but could be a lot of fun to play with

3 AV14 boxes rolling up the field with a fair ammount of dakka in the form of 4 tl volkites, 2 quad launcers, 2 tl lascannons plus the contemptors kheres to help a little with AA
Rhino tacs there to cap objectives and generally be a pain with the odd mc melta on the rhino
Javelins get CoF bonus' while outflanking and hopefully smashing any heavy armour and if the live past the turn they come on dividing attention between them and the land raiders

It's not a super competitive list but I feel it is reasonably balanced

You can still take the Caestus if you want, Covenant of Fire only restricts Deep Strike, not reserves. It can still arrive on table as a zooming flyer
