Ok I am back to 40k after about 25 years away.

Installed Battlescribe and I wanted to see if I did it right.

Are the Dark Imperium Astartes, without addons, a total of 767 points?

I dont know, I think you're going to have more luck if you get battlescribe to output I a printable format and then paste it here with a spoiler tag (can be quite big) then we can see what you've done and if/where you went wrong.

Ok here goes. Im 25 years out of 40k and never used BS so just seeing if im doing it right. In the mini book that comes with DI(shows Power level, never come across this before) Intecessor squads are 6PL, BS has them as 5 I note. Captain in booklet is 8PL....but I want to focus on the 'points' old skool style if thats still possible?

The PL system you can just ignore it and only use your points.
BS is a good tool for list building and most of the time have it right as there is so many FAQs and erratas and then Chapter approved out there.

You need another troop choice as the battalion has the minimum of two HQ and three troops. Other than this you seem to got it right.

My chaos Daemons uses PL for a few things like summoning and stratagem for deep strike but if you do not find any like this in your book you never have to pay it any attention.

PL just GW just trying to freshen things up?

Ah didnt know what the Troop choice thing was so just clicked what sounded like a standard one hehe. I presume its all explained in the codex?

GWs trying to tell us how good they are on the field and some people do play games based on PL instead of points but it’s not to recommend as some armies are broken that way.

Can’t remember if it’s in rule book or codex but should be in both. Not hard to find otherwise on google.

PL is unbalanced and stupid, ignore it. Two company veterans have PL3, adding just one more model increases their PL to 8. A dreadnought has PL6. Three company veterans with SB are more powerful than a dread with AC, and its CCW. Thats ridiculous.
