No escaping other content though, so, I expect the price will go up...

This year, we’ve separated Chapter Approved into two bundled books for your convenience.

Try new missions and ways to play with Chapter Approved 2019 itself, then build your matched play lists with the Munitorum Field Manual – a reference guide with points for everything currently in Warhammer 40,000. The Field Manual doesn’t just contain updated points, but unchanged ones too, meaning you’ll only have to look in once place when writing your lists!

The Field book is redundant if you take battlescribe or some similar tool.
We generally have one CA book in our gaming club. That's enough.

So what we thinking 25% or 50% price rise for what used to be free/included in wd.

Your last point is especially laughable and comical, because not only the 7th ed Valkyrie shown dumber things (like being able to throw the troopers without parachutes out of its hatches, no harm done) - Irbis

Lol, Battlescribe being enough. That's cute! Totally hasn't been a big factor in things like the Relic of Lost Cadia Primaris Psyker nonsense.

Or 0.

General's Handbook switched to this format and stayed at the $35 price point.

Build your own hive fleet rules. This really makes me wish GW had stopped at the basic 2.0 codex for Marines and then given them the same treatment Chaos got in Faith & Fury and Nids look to be getting in Blood of Baal. That would have been enough, and the game would be in a better position.

Saying that as a someone who was a pretty dedicated Vanilla Marine player even when Marines were garbage after most of the codexes were out.

Edit: Forgot to post the link to the source on the community page: https://www.warhammer-community.com/2019/11/24/coming-soon-blood-of-baal-battleforces-and-beyond/

OT: Having all the points in one place without having to dig through a half-dozen references sounds nice. We'll probably end up buying one to share around the club and that will be it though as well.

Cool. hope they won't rise the price, because of that.

There's quite a simple flowchart to find out.

Does the day end in a "Y" Y/N? If Y then GW will raise prices.

Already confirmed to be the same price.

I am really happy to have the points in one place. I like to write lists by hand over an In N Out burger so it works out well for me. Combined with new Tyranid stuff I may actually play again.

Certainly not going back to CSM any time soon, there's a godawful number of books.

Nice! This is pretty close to exactly what I would have wanted. All the points, all in one book.

Guardsmen, hear me! Cadia may lie in ruin, but her proud people do not! For each brother and sister who gave their lives to Him as martyrs, we will reap a vengeance fiftyfold! Cadia may be no more, but will never be forgotten; our foes shall tremble in fear at the name, for their doom shall come from the barrels of Cadian guns, fired by Cadian hands! Forward, for vengeance and retribution, in His name and the names of our fallen comrades!

So are these 2 separate products?

I'll admit it kinda makes sense and I understand their thought process. Once you finish your list you don't half, or when you're list building you don't need the missions/extra content.

So that's my only concern I suppose. I think last year's CA was $40Cdn so as long as both books are in the same price range it's a non issue

It will be so much more convenient to have points costs in a second separate book which you have to buy every year, rather than in the Codex.

No. They’ve stated they’re bundled as one at the WHC link.

A Mostly Renegades and Heretics blog.
GW:"Space marines got too many options to balance, therefore we decided to legends HH units."
Players: "why?!? Now we finally got decent plastic kits and you cut them?"
Chaos marines players: "Since when are Daemonengines 30k models and why do i have NO droppods now?"
GW" MONEY.... erm i meant TOO MANY OPTIONS (to resell your army to you again by disalowing former units)! Do you want specific tyranid fighiting Primaris? Even a new sabotage lieutnant!"
Chaos players: Guess i stop playing or go to HH.

My guess - The points reductions are for non-Vanilla Space Marines, and will be in line with the points changes in the Vanilla codex. I still doubt the credibility of the rumours atm (not accusing btw, just doubting).

A cursory attempt of looking at the precedent set by AoS having a similar setup would tell you that this is unlikely to happen.

Points are still in the Battletomes. They're also in the General's Handbook's 'pointsbook'. But because we have free warscrolls via the app and the webstore, there's the very real possibility for someone to play without buying books.

They won't have the Relics, Command Traits, or Allegiance Abilities--but there's no need for someone running allied units from a book they don't want to have to buy the whole book just for points.

Healthy scepticism with these rumors. Riptide going up 30? That seems maybe too much. I don't like playing against riptides but they're getting close to knight territory and I don't think that's a good idea. Unless they're pointing it based on the expectation that people are using branched Nova charge every turn, which I think we can all agree that units shouldn't be pointed based on stratagems.

Donno about all the rest, but Tank Commanders going back up that 20 points and CSM dropping a couple is very welcome.

"General Marine point reductions", be fair: you could make a legitimate argument that Terminators, Predators, Plasma Cannons, Melta guns, Multimeltas, Reivers, and Assault Marines are still not where they should be. $20 says that's not where the point cuts fall, but GW gonna GW.

To be fair I don't think Terminators need a points drop so much as they need a Tor Garadon style shoulder mounted Stormbolter. Not just loyalists either, Chaos, GK, Allarus, characters, everybody. Maybe not at 2 ppm across the board though, Deathwatch should still pay 4 instead because of SiB.

So they would have two storm bolters each? Or would it just be a look thing. because wrist mounted storm bolters are fine. And the weapon above ones head look strange.

Yes, two Stormbolters each. 8 shots per model. It's still not as efficient as an Aggressor but it's close enough if you're not using the Ultramarine or Salamander rules to let them move and still double-tap.

...I also agree that the shoulder-mount looks funny but there already a couple of wrist-mounted guns on Terminator models, they're mostly rubbish, and I don't want to give GW bad ideas if I can help it.
