Hi, just wanted to check something.
The dire avengers exarch power, shredding fire, states that his non grenade ranged weapons have an automatic -3 ap.
The hail of doom custom craftworlds trait gives an additional -1 ap to shuriken weapons within 12" but that it doesn't apply to the normal 6+ to wound ap bonus.
So I assume the power and trait stack since the exarch is giving the ap buff rather than the weapon?

Correct. The weapon now has an AP Characteristic of -3 and Hail of Doom improves that characteristic by 1. The fact it's a special snowflake shuriken weapon due to the Exarch power is irrelevant.
