Question:

Played against a raven guard army with agressor squads dropping in. Now my opponent used a stratagem that makes the agressor's count as 'stationary' so that the can shoot double. I can only find a stratagem that gives them this ability for the ' bolter disciple rule'. Agressor squad got a ' assault weapon' so the wouldn't be able to use it, I think.

Am I missing something?

If the stratagem they used was Steady Advance then yes, it only applies specifically to Rapid Fire bolt weapons, and only allows them to shoot rapid fire at full range as if they hadn't moved.

This means it would have no affect on Aggressors.

if he wants to move and double fire his agressors he needs to be playing Ultramarines

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

Or Salamanders, the Relentless Determination strategem counts the unit as stationary as well.

I'm assuming he used strike from the shadows and it's a redepoyment not a movement. So the aggressors could be placed on your backfield and not count as having moved.

Maybe, but unless he was playing RG successors and using the Long-ranged Marksmen trait (for 11" flamers), there is no way for those redeployed Aggressors to be in range without moving first as they would be outside 9" with only 8" guns

So it's actually unlikely this was a legit play since we know he wasn't UM or Sallies and also might not have been a RG successor either

I don't see where he said flamers were part of the equation. I was assuming dropping in and bolterizing.

True, he did. First dropping in with character first turn (stratagem) and after that he dropped in second turn with another unit (stratagem). He shot double bolter stuff, and claimed he could do this because he count's as not moving (stratagem or whatever..). I wasn't that familiair with space marines but he did this at round 6 at a big tournament so it is peculiar that no other played corrected him. Especially when 50% space marine players were at the tournament.

yeah, only way he could pull this off is first turn if he used Master of Ambush warlord trait to redeploy the Aggressor unit before first turn. He could then be in range of his boltstorms and fire twice. If he came in from deepstrike then he counts as moving (if used Strike from the Shadows), and Aggressors cannot make use of the Steady Advance strategem as they don't have Rapid Fire weapons.

If in doubt always ask to see the rule. He may not have been cheating per se, but may simply have misread the stratagem. Either way, with the combo and circumstances you mention, I don't see how he can be treating his Aggressors as stationary.
