Sooooo........ no one is going to talk about the new crit mechanic for N4? OK, I'll go *cracks knuckles*

Carlos on Mayacast said the new crit mechanic will follow the same rules as current, but inctsant of insta-wound it will cause two armour rolls (dependant on the ammo being used).

The idea was to allow people who invested in higher armour values to have more reliance on that investment.

So just a chance for double damage? or just one extra armor roll total for one extra point of damage?

I don't think that changes many end results if both roll fail as many things don't have more then 2-3 HP anyway. It's seams like a good change on paper as I know at least I've been on the receiving end of really good luck where crits just wipe out everything you have and I've also been on the side of things where that one cheerleader that's your last unit goes all John Mclain and takes out three units thanks to the crit system. It's kind of a swingy system which can be awesome for one side by really frustrating for the other.

I'd probably have given and extra negative to the armor roll to lean it more in the favor of the attacker though.

That's far from certain.
Watch this video:

N3 TO Cammo has many different skills nested inside. With Code One and N4 those will be labeled as separated skills so they can build new profiles with different variations from the same original rule.

Where does the "No-Cammo units" rumour come from?
OpKaldstrom brings DaoFei, Guilang and HunDun, all af them are Cammo Units.

Listen to Mayacast, they have an interview thta reveals more stuff.

I'd be surprised if there was no cameo as all the operation intro missions had at least one. What wouldn't surprise me is if Code One only had one or two camo types, maybe not stealth.

Duoble damage. So the example given was if T2 ammo was used and the attacker rolled a crit, the hit model would roll two armour rolls and if both fail that's four wounds.

Any sign that they're doing something to curb the ridiculous numbers of NWO and dead but not dead shenanigans all over N3?

At this point, there's probably more models with some kind of 0 health but still technically alive mechanics than there are profiles without it.

I hope they move most of those to just possessing 2 wounds. The NWI should be saved for really special units.

I felt that way about the Yu Jing in Red Veil, but I ended up keeping them because they were nice looking minis. I also made a point to get them, and the beyond minis, all painted up. So, oddly enough, I have 300 points of painted Yu Jing. and the Zhanshi from the Vallejo paint set, which I need to paint, the Zhanshi, not the paint set. These Yu Jing minis look pretty nice, and I'll keep them too.

I do still have the Yu Jing stuff from Red Veil...

Dammit - I'm trying to pare down the number of Infinity armies I have!!!

Not sure I like that. Would think 4 armor rolls would be better as that makes high armor people really unwoundable by lower point troops. Will have too see how it plays out though.

I don't really know, people seem to elevate any wild idea they have into "a rumour" these days...

Suffice to say there are camo Units in CodeOne.

It might end up that way. But I suspect that T2 will stay two wounds on a failed save. Either way, the new crit system favors high armor troops quite a bit.

Calm down, lol. CB is doing all they can to pare down armies, like MRR, and ASA and QK and Tohaa and NCA and who knows which others are off to the guillotine. They are helpful like that

There was a video today. Confirms camo tokens are in, so Bostria was trolling before.

Trolling, When?

Kan, there is even a video in this same page in this same thread with Bostria explainign Cammo in CodeOne.

Who's trolling? Who's misinformed? Who's confused?

T2 is specially a special ammo that causes 2 wounds per failed armor save. Double Action forces 2 armor saves per successful hit. There's mechanics in the game for both essentially.

Personally, I think rather than rolling two armor saves a crit should require a reroll of a successful save against it. Largely the same thing, but it removes the potential for double damage. Still better than the current system though.

Wandering Monk:
Spoiler:

Is the Monk the first time we've seen a cyberpunk style cybernetic in Infinity? I swear in some video years ago they talked about not wanting their cybernetics to stand out. While I agree with that for the most part since most of these units in the game are crack military units and would have the best replacement parts I like it on a Merc and its equally nice to see it on something like the Monk which goes against the stereotype of them being in balance or harmony. Nope, here's a guy with a big freaking metal arm. I like you can see the head plates as a different material too (was wondering what that was on the painted figure). Nice bit of change up from CB as long as it doesn't become too common.

No, we've seen them before but rarely. Zoe(of Zoe & Pi-Well) is the biggest example I can think of.

Automatically Appended Next Post:

We just got confirmation on the official forums that the units in "Beyond Kaldstrom" are all new units, not padding to the box itself.

Okay, I don't know why, but I really like the ninja. Seems like a decent mix of pulp ninja, hard sci-fi, and tacti-cool. I wish the other ninjas looked like that (and that this one wasn't a limited run).

If you're preordering Kaldstrom or you order in the first month or so, you're pretty much guaranteed to get the ninja.

Worth mentioning, again, that Kunai Solutions is a company front for a "clan" of ninjas that seem to not really be traditional like the ones that are part of the JSA. The remaining Ninja "Clans" in Yu Jing are supposed to be more along the lines of Kunai Solutions so don't be shocked if there's a makeover down the road.

I'd like to get Kaldstrom, but I just can't justify shelling out that much money right now. Hopefully you're right and like the Brawlers, Kunai Co. will see a wider release down the line.

The past few releases saw such a glut in the pre-order bonus figure packs that places like gamenerdz had them in stock over a year out of release. Some go quicker, like the JSA, but I was still able to find them 6months out. The books sell the least so I think you can still find the one with the brawler included (https://www.gamenerdz.com/infinity-daedalus-fall-hardcover-w-brawlers-promo-figure)

I'm getting kaldstrom, that's a given, but looking at the preorder cost of the Dire Foes box - $70au - seems really steep to me. I'd appreciate having the Beyond box content known so I can make a decision between that the DF box.

Nice. None of my factions are supported for at least a year in code one so that saves me a lot of money.

Where does Defiance fit into Code One? Or will it be N4-only?

Defiance doesn't fit anywhere. It's supposed to be a standalone thing, which was only available via Kickstarter(might be wrong on that front but they never really discussed retail options).

I'd *guess* that some of its mechanics will be similar to Code One though?

And yes, I'm just guessing.

I would also like to know what's going to be in the Beyond Kaldstrom box...

Also, Game Nerdz is currently not taking Operation Kaldstrom pre-orders and I can't find this on Miniature Market - anyone else able to find it there?
