Hi,
Is started playing 40k again after years, and the new rules for space marines and ultramarines are a bit confusing to me.
I do not own the codexes to gather the information I need for the firsts games. I was surprised by how strong the rules for the army seemed, so I wanted to check that I am not making any mistakes.

Combat doctrines + Scions of Guillimar seems absolutely insane.
turn 2 with -1 AP in all rapid fire and assault weapons, and everyone is considered stationary when shooting even if moved (not advanced of fallen back). Including units like aggressors and heavy weapons.

Warlord trait and relic:
The imperium's sword (+ 1 attack + 1 strengh on charge, + one dice reroll of the charge) + master-crafted power fist (+1 damage) on a captain in a bike = 15 wounds on a tank in my first charge.
6 attacks strength 11, -3AP, D3+1 damage, range at 14´´ + charge with 1 reroll. And shooting twin boltguns + any other rifle (combi melta, master crafted boltgun...)

I am applying those corretly? I am playing a friendly escalation league starting at 500 points and going up each 2 weeks, and in my first match all those rules together seem way to good to be true.
I am doing something wrong? Do they only apply in specific circusntances? Specially Scions of Guillimar. Or they just are part of what ultramarines do?

Serve the Emperor today, for tomorrow you may be be dead.

1) Yes that is how it works, if you move, you are considered to not have moved for the Scions of Guilliman rules as long as the tacticle doctrine is active and you have not fallen back or advanced.

Space Marines are really powerful at the moment, with part of the reason being that they have so many different rules that interact and can potentially stack. It doesn't sounds like you are doing anything wrong

8930 points 6800 points 75 points 600 points
2810 points 5740 points 2650 points 3275 points
55 points 640 points 1840 points 435 points
2990 points 700 points 2235 points 1935 points
3460 points 1595 points 2480 points 2895 points

You're correct. Space Marines are very, very good right now as they recently got an updated Codex and supplements and pretty much every other army hasn't received the same sort of buff yet.

It is actually an additional point of AP on top of their regular AP, so your Bolt Rifles that are regularly AP-1 becomes AP-2 and what not. Scions also makes Bolter Discipline easier as a until can move and still get full shots.

You can reroll any or all of the dice on the charge.

Space Marines are in a real good spot right now, in the meta most people say the Iron Hands are the best right now with Ultramarines not far behind,
