Hi,
I've recently started getting into 40K, and have started collecting and painting some Tzeentch daemons. I recently discovered the Battlescribe app and have been playing around with some army lists to see how that works.

I was surprised to see that Battlescribe gives my Tzeentch Daemons army the option of including Giant Chaos Spawn and Spined Chaos Beasts, despite these not appearing in the the Chaos Daemons Codex.

Where (other than in Battelscribe itself) would I find rules for these two?

And after a bit of a search of the Games Workshop and Forge World sites I don't see miniatures for either of these. Are these units no longer played? Or are people substituting other miniatures for them?

Thanks!

Their rules are in the FW book Imperial Armour Index: Forces of Chaos.

It does appear both are OOP. I couldn't find them on FW's website either.

Rules wise as above.

Model wise, they are gone from FW sadly.
If you want something around that size and also with the tzeentch look, take a look at the mutilith vortex beast from GWs AoS line.

Thanks! I wasn't aware of ForgeWorld having rules books.

Are these considered 'canon' if that is the correct word? Can I use these rules unless they've been updated somewhere else (like in Chapter approved?)?

Thanks! I like the vortex beast model. Some of the Tyrannid models might work too, I think.

Yea those books are still generally the most up to date rules for forgeworld models. There are of course some exceptions which I believe you can find where GW keep all their errata and updates.

IA I:FoC is still the most up-to-date rules for, AFAIK, all the units therein.

It has rules for the big-daddy Lord of Change, too. Autoerotic'keres, or whatever.

That’s good to know, I don’t often track Forgeworld rule changes but I thought there was some stuff around the Leviathan and maybe something for Custodes, but I may be wrong.

There's an FAQ/Errata for it, FYI.

The mutlaith has rules for 40k in the thousand sons codex so be careful of that. I used a fantasy chimera for my spined beast.

That’s a good shout actually.
I’ve not been following 40k for a while so missed that one.

The Chimera model looks fantastic! I hadn't seen that one. Did you leave the wings off for your spined beast?
