Just wondering what everyones thoughts are on running a full or mostly everchosen type build ideas. The new book has some pretty good stuff compared to the last one. My main interest in the book is just running Archaon and Varangard.
To take the batallion you are left with I think 180 points to play with after 9 Horse-lords ands the big man himself. Not sure if it is really worth it though - it does give you 2 circles per unit...could be good. I'm just thinking you are probably better off taking larger groups of Varangard and taking some psychic support and some other battle line to take hits and let your varangard charge.
I am feeling pretty confident about the 6th circle with the host of the everchosen giving you the most benefit. Then ether Slaneesh or Khorne or even Undivided as being the best STD benefit options.
I am new to the game so any suggestions would be appreciated

A list that's just Archaon and Varanguard I think will struggle in a lot of matchups.each death will hurt so much.
I'd be tempted to try and take as much chaff as possible in that last 180pts, maybe looking at Daemons. Stuff to screen or sit on objectives.

Are you just playing some fun games or is your intentions to be competitive?
Both models are just plain amazing and would look great on the table. You will be out numbered at 1000 and 2000 points as you know but I am a fan of playing what you like and having fun. Also, he is the Biggest Bad@## in AOS!!! Let the Goose loose, LOL
As you play, you will adjust your list accordingly to make up for what is lacking.

Just for fun for now. I have a TZ army as well from 40k I can get into the mix from what I hear that is really strong. I just want to play with these beautiful models though. I actually have 6 varangards painted pretty well just gotta get big man painted which should take a week or more lol. I would like to give the army the best chance for victory though as being out number 15-1 us goin to be daunting. What would be the best chaff I could take? Marauder horsemen?

For fun, it’s definitely usable.
For more competitive games it will struggle a lot.
It really doesn’t have the hitting or staying power that you’d think it has.
Losing even 1 model will be painful, so you’d have to pick targets very carefully.
The only big thing on its side is the good mobility, that will help with picking your fights a lot more.

You don’t get two circles anymore. They errata’d it. Each unit of Varanguard can now have a different circle from each other. Instead of each unit having the same. So it’s largely trash to run that detachment. Use the 120pts towards a spellcaster instead.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.
