I'd try to get a hold on some Necron gauss weaponry, which has capacitor boxes all over the place. Tomb Blades are probably the best source (6 guns). Then get some braided steel wire and wrap the gun barrels with it.

I'm using Eradication Beamers from the AdMech Dunecrawler for mine, but that kit had some other options that would work, too. Phosphor Blasters (which come two barrels to a weapon), for example, could work either paired up, with the muzzle cut off three of the four barrels, or a single barrel with some embellished tube standing in for the "charging" capacitors.

As a bonus, several of the crazier looking weapons are bad in-game, so are pretty cheap online (or could just be sitting around in your local AdMech player's bits box). I picked up a bunch of the beamers for my looted knight army for something like a dollar each.
