Been Around the Block

A few days ago Warhammer Underworld: Online was released into early access.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1022310/Warhammer_Underworlds_Online/
It seems to be a pretty faithfull adaption to the tabletop game. Did anyone try it out? There seems to be some bugs and the price is pretty steep for the content. But still I am curious and would like to see what others say before investing.

Oh, it's a dice and cards type game. A little disappointed. Hope it's good for what other people want though.

It's Warhammer Underworlds ported to video game. It's surprisingly their most accurate and faithful video game to one of GW's games which is.. odd.

I never quite got the idea of translating a boardgame to vidya format 1:1, instead of hiding the greeblies behind UI, but at least it looks nice. And significantly cheaper than the physical form.

I'd like this. In particular that it is so close to the original board game. It just seems a bit "slow" in terms of waiting times for animations/dice rolls. I'll keep an eye on this. I think the final decision will lie on the price of the unavoidable DLCs...

I'll pick it up once its fully released. Not a big fan of Early Access stuff.
I liked Shadespire but had my time consumed by other things when Nightvault came out.

As Early Access there are quite a few issues with UI and some game breaking bugs which will be fixed in time.
Pacing is an issue and something the developer mentioned they have had feedback on and are looking at how they can make the flow carry more smoothly without jarring pauses - also network latency is bit of an issue which I'm hoping is fixed over time.
As a representation of the tabletop, it's actually quite faithful to the game, very close in fact. Issues aside, it's the closest thing you'll get to playing the game digitally and if you're hard pressed to find opponents in your area to play on the table, it's a good substitute to play online.

Indeed, my thoughts as well. The game will live or die by it's expansions with new war bands, cards and features (new boards from Beastgrave etc with lethal hexes and magic mechanic)

"Courage and Honour. I hear you murmur these words in the mist, in their wake I hear your hearts beat harder with false conviction seeking to convince yourselves that a brave death has meaning.
There is no courage to be found here my nephews, no honour to be had. Your souls will join the trillion others in the mist shrieking uselessly to eternity, weeping for the empire you could not save.
To the unfaithful, I bring holy plagues ripe with enlightenment. To the devout, I bring the blessing of immortality through the kiss of sacred rot.
And to you, new-born sons of Gulliman, to you flesh crafted puppets of a failing Imperium I bring the holiest gift of all.... Silence."
