The only way to be sure you're up to date is to write your lists yourself using the books, but if you want to use a tool, you won't find anything more well maintained than BattleScribe. The community maintaining the data is actively improving it all the time. If you feel like there are some big gaps in the data, you could join the community and get stuck in yourself.

battlescribe is a really nice program but im guessing they haven't seen the latest Ork codex yet.

some errors ive found so far:

Deff Dread: listed at 45 points (s/b 55)
Killa Kan: listed at 30 points (s/b 40)
Stompa: listed at 800 points (s/b 850)

thanks kodos, ill take a look at that online codex.

Battlescribe has all the correct points values in those cases - Chapter Approved 2019 changed the values from what was originally printed in the Codex.

If, for some reason, you don't want to use Chapter Approved points values in your games, that's a pretty trivial part of the dataset to change. The default is going to be using the correct points values, however.

It's the codex that is in error. Ca19 has up to date. Codexes are partially outdated 2 weeks after release with faq and each christmas sees ca19 which invalidates points further and further. Bs has plenty errors but this one is not

One real mistake that is at least on latest i have. Geminia for sister is still 20 pts. Ca19 made it 16 pts wargear included aka power sword i# now free. Errata for ca19 didn't touch so officially now 16pts each

BS has it right. The non-limited Codex was released after Chapter Approved and changed it back. You always go by the most recent source - in this case the non-limited version of the Codex.

Please do report the bug anonymously here https://battlescribedata.appspot.com/#/repo/wh40k, I sent them a report about Zhadsnark last week costing 120 instead of 110 and they fixed it right away.

Chapter Approved has its own Errata, so start there and work back through that, back to the codex.

Battlescribe lists when and what the changes are in an update.

If GW ever released their own list builder, I'd use that. But, that detracts from book sales. Misprinted and incorrect books, but that's a separate issue.

Honestly that sounds like someone bending over backwards to deliberately arrive at the wrong conclusion.

The BSData authors are human, one can appeal to their common sense. The CA updates clearly apply to the same codex regardless of which cover they have.

Just open a bug report, outline the issue and the apparent cause for confusion.

where can I find all this information? I tried looking through the "FAQ" and "downloads" on the Warhammer site but could not find a CA 19 that showed up-to-date Ork points.

thanks!

Chapter Approved 2019
It is the one broken down into 2 books.

I don't think that there is an official pdf online, so you may need to get a physical one.

Funny to see that it only take a single genuine new player trying to figure it out to make it clear how absurd this all is...

Its not something that this thread made clear. It's been an issue throughout most of the current edition. The only way to fix this properly is to move point costs to some kind of online distribution,or to stop printing point costs outside of CA.

thanks!

I was going to order the rule book any way so I figure I might as well order these.
