According to GW's art, sisters of the Order of Our Martyred Lady have white hair (maybe some other orders as well). Any fluff details on this? E.g., is it dyed, and can the white be washed away? Or is it bleached, meaning it needs to regrow in order to return to its natural color? Or has it somehow become their permanent hair color via some kind of chemical, genetic or mystical process?

Back in the day, the common speculation was that Sisters were all bald and the matching hairstyles were just wigs.

Not sure if they've ever actually addressed it one way or another in anything official, though.

IIRC it's since been addressed, apparently their patron saints hair turned white after meeting the emperor, and they dye their hair in honor of that

Celestian Miriya (Faith and Fire, Red and Black, Hammer and Anvil) is a member of the Order of Our Martyred Lady and has dark hair.

They all had dark hair in the 2nd ed. Codex, except the cover. I suspect they were changed to match the art more than anything (and to make it stand out since the original colour scheme had a ton of black).

Not aware of any fluff reason.

I have read that on the internet, but when I tried to research it I couldn't find the original source... I'd love to know whether it is actually mentioned in canon. I will be giving my custom order white hair, so it would be nice to know the origins of the Martyred Lady's hair bleaching practice.

Is it even a canon thing for Martyred Lady's Sisters to have bleached hair? As mentionned before Miriya is described as having darrk hair and several sisters are described with different hairr colors, one is even described as having a small afro I think.

I could swear I've read it somewhere, thought it wasd the codex but if not I couldn't spot it. my custom order goes with a mix of hair colours just to keep things intreasting when I'm painting they're a fair number of gingers and dirty blondes just because I find those hair colours can look good fairly easily.
