I'll be selling some 90s Skaven/High Elves/Goblins on eBay to fund new paints and am not sure how to post them. What are popular cost-effective methods? As they're old models they're quite 'flat' if that makes sense but I'll also be selling a couple of bulkier items.

Bubble wrap and sellotape each figure.
Peanut chip or bubble wrap layer the bottom of the box.
Layer of bubble wrapped figures.
Repeat.
Consider Sellotape strips of figures to reduce movement.
Take your time.

Depends a bit on what you've got and on how much you're sending.


A metal model that's fairly flat from the old days is quite easy. You can wrap it in bubblewrap, use a bit of tape to close the join so that it remains wrapped up; then pop it into a padded envelope.

If you don't have the latter then a small box, just make sure you give it a layer of packing peanuts; bubblewrap or even screwed up newspaper. Basically a material to absorb impacts and to stop the model moving around.


I've even used those foam backings that come in blister packs - again its padding to stop things moving. Once it won't move its pretty safe.

If you're talking about squads of ten models or less? Easiest/cheapest way I've found is this. Go to Poundland, buy up plastic chinese food containers. You can get four deep ones for a pound, or ten shallower ones. lay the models down in a small sheet of bubble wrap, fold it over, and tape it round once. Put in container. Do a layer of masking tape lengthways (going all around the container), and then two sideways. Stick label on top. Cheap and effective. I've posted many, many hundreds of ebay lots like this over the years. Especially efficient when you're selling a lot of stuff.

I use either a very small box, usually from another miniature, or those envelopes with a layer of bubble wrap lining. Remove the mini from its base if possible, and put a cocoon of bw around it

Thanks everyone, that's all great advice. I'll be selling individual figures mostly, but I drunkenly won an auction for a GW Hydra last night so I'm going to have to sell off my blood bowl team and Necromunda squad to balance the books.
