Games Workshop should use this forced hiatus to sort out the keywords for their stock. It's very frustrating how the filters work so badly. The site is fine you know what you want but I generally find browsing really unpleasant and difficult to narrow down choice...

Yeah I agree, what's the problem?

I've been playing a while, my first model was a lead marine and my first White Dwarf was bound with staples

I find it fascinating that Tzaangors *still* aren't listed under Thousand Sons.

Or the Nurgle Daemon Prince that can only be found by using the search bar.

Yeah there's a few models that are "missing" in the system because they've no currently used key words which means they don't actually appear for sale in the army listings that they should appear in.

If you know the model exists and search for it you can find it and sometimes the "Show all models" within a model range also shows it, but otherwise they can end up outright vanishing.

There just seems to be a lot of models that are missing important keywords. Quick example is if choose adeptus sororitas and HQs, cannoness doesn't come up. It's obviously missing the HQ keyword.

In addition to that, it doesn't seem to combine keywords within a section. So if you pick space marines and fly, you obviously get space marines that can fly. If you then also pick character, you'd expect to get flying characters but instead you get models that can fly and models that are characters.

The times I find it especially frustrating is when I'm browsing for ideas for conversions. Say I just want to see if there are any imperium monsters that fly, you'd expect that would be a really small number. Instead it comes up with 487 results and the first one is a primaris lieutenant...

To be fair, you’d just have to skip to item 486 to get past the Lieutenants :-)

Which is as it should be. The website shows you all the models that match either of the keywords you have chosen (i.e., models that FLY or models that are CHARACTERS).

I'm not sure i agree. Go to an online clothes retailer and choose JEANS and BLUE and see if it shows you all the jeans and every item of clothing they sell that's blue...

So 'JEANS' would be the army and 'BLUE' would be the battlefield role.

It is exactly how GW wants it to work. How online clothes retailers do things doesn't change that.

Their site has always been a mess. The search function has always been less than useless. And all the drop down clicky boxes glutchy as can be.
It'll never get fixed though

I Have not found to many glitches myself, But i find it a pain to navigate and find i do not browse miniatures there at all.

I think the community site that i really hate trying to find stuff, I think most of the time going there is a link from Dakka.

Together its not the worst, but its certainly not the best Websites out there for buying stuff.

If you want to look for two keywords independently of each other you can simply do two searches. I'd you want to search for items that have both keywords then that would be the more useful method.
Why would you want to look for all fly and all characters, for instance, at the same time?
You'd just do two separate searches wouldn't you?

Hey at least its got a shopping cart and won't ban you for buying more than a handful of items.

Unlike a certain game company who spent and epic amount of multi-millions securing exclusive games but seemed to pay almost nothing at all for their store

GW store has issues, though often I notice that they tend to be more back-end than front-end. Ergo things like models losing their tags and falling off the page that they should be on. To me that isn't a store problem, its an end-user problem.

So your whole complaint is because GW's website doesn't work how YOU want it to work? Yeah, I think we're done here...

For a customer-facing software this is a very valid complaint, assuming multiple people share that view.

That said, most people expect multiple filters to narrow down the search, not broaden it. Searching for FLYING CHARACTER should only yield characters with wings, jetpack and so on.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

Yeh that is my whole complaint. I'd imagine I'm not the only one who thinks the keywords don't work correctly.

Describe a scenario where someone would ever want to search for two unrelated keywords where they couldn't just do two separate searches? So the existing functionality is basically redundant.

If it worked the way I believe it should, and how choosing multiple search terms normally work in most cases it would actually be very useful.

So maybe tone down your aggression, and maybe don't try to speak for everybody in trying to dismiss what I believe to be a genuine discussion point...

I noticed while browsing today that the product description for the Guard Scout Sentinel claims that the model in the picture includes parts from the Genestealer Cult upgrade sprue.
But it clearly doesn't.

It's good to know that the guy who proof-reads White Dwarf is kept busy checking the website between issues...

So how many models are actually hidden in the website ?
Can we name them all ?
