I was looking over the dark imperium box set and realize the marine iconography is all Ultramarines (duh its on the box) and was wondering if there was somewhere i can get bulk shoulder pads/helmets/conversion kits? I don't mind the ultramarine helmets but if i'm running Sons of Dorn i want that bulky helmet look. Any help is appreciated! Also would you reccomend stickers?

While painted blue on the cover, the marines in the DI box don’t have any sculpted iconography. And IIRC, the box does come with IF transfers.

GW does sell chapter conversion kits. I know they had Fist ones at one point.

The DI box is mono-build. If you want to change out the shoulders, it’s going to be a lot of work. One of the downsides of the cheep models. Head swaps are going to be easier. The full kits bought separately take the chapter pads without work.

Transfers are a lot easier than freehanding. I’d recommend it, unless you are a deft hand with the brush. If you do go down that road, I’d pick up some microsol/microset and look up Winterdyne’s tutorial.
