So I just got a set of the Vengeance Weapon Batteries off of eBay, and them being OOP I am hesitant about which would be the weapon I equip them with. Any suggestions?

If you're just going to play it in 8th, then I'd suggest not even using it accept for maybe the AA configuration.

It just doesn't have the BS needed to hit much anything else reliably.

Though it is a nice piece to have at the very least, especially for nostalgias sake.

One has to wonder. Do the Tyranids consider drop-assault troops... fast food?

I had originally intended to get an Aquila Strongpoint, but this was like $200 cheaper

Well, want do you want to do with it? I don't think any of the options are especially effective, but despite their limited capabilities they do perform different roles.

If you want to actually kill something then the Icarus lascannon is the best choice as it has a limited ability to pick and hit its targets. It's not so useful if you play against Orks or Guard, but most other armies will have flying targets to shoot at.

If you want to defend an objective or set up a refused flank then the Punisher Cannon is best, as it has enough shots that it will get at least a few hits. And since most infiltrating units are lighter infantry the Punisher can actually threaten them.

The Battle Cannon seems like the worst option, as it has too few shots to regularly get hits and does too little damage to threaten much. It would primarily be useful if your army is highly aggressive so most of the fighting will take place in your opponent's side of the table, out of the range of the Punisher Cannon.

Madness is however an affliction which in war carries with it the advantage of surprise - Winston Churchill
