It used to be free?
If it's still free I'll model it anyway even if it doesn't get used but if I got to pay a point I'll leave it off the model's

Just to explain a little bit why people are not giving a straight answer:

Dakka is not a replacement for your codex. In the rules of the army list section, it’s pointed out not to list individual points for upgrades. Part of the reason for this is to keep GW’s notoriously trigger happy lawyers at bay. It’s OK to talk in general terms, or discuss the merits of things, but listing specific stuff like this point-blank is generally something to avoid.

The point value for the AGL is listed with the “other wargear” not with the Ranged weapons, which is why you might have trouble finding it.

well I won't say what the actual point value is then just so people don't have nightmares of GW lawyers banging on their doors lol?? I can see the points value for it in the SM codex but was just asking as a lot of forums said it was free contradicting what my codex said so guess I'll just go with the codex

Spoiler:

The Army List section’s rules wrote:When you post your lists for dissection here the total points value and costs of the individual units are fine to list, but please refrain from listing the cost of each and every upgrade.

So

10 Marines
Heavy bolter
Flamer
Powerfist XXX points is fine.

What we don't want is

10 Marines YY points
Heavy bolter YY points
Flamer YY points
Powerfist YY points.

This applies for vehicles, psychic powers, extra weapons etc etc.

If in doubt, leave it out.

Thank you.

Just passing on the rules. There might be more/different reasons behind them, just passing on the one I recall hearing.

GW’s points are a hot mess honestly. You might have to check multiple sources to find out what the latest values are. I just use Battlescribe. It’s pretty good at keeping up to date. Not prefect, but I’m not playing in tournaments. So if it missed updating a unit to the new points, it’s not going to break my friendly game.
