Can I get some clear pics of original Arbites models? I tried searching them in the gallery, but I only found one good close-up of the Grenadier model (it was actually a collage of 9 great pics of the same model from different angles. I could really use some pics of each model from the front and the top. I need the top view because I think I found at least 5 of the original models hiding in a mislabeled listing on ebay, but the only pic showing them is a bit blurry and from a top down view. Beyond that, the models are just cool too and I want to see them. If I'm correct and I get them, I'll post some pics when they arrive. Oh, and I guess I could use some value help too, to know if they're worth buying at the listed price or if I should make an offer. Thanks everyone, any help is appreciated on this.

I'm currently painting up a squad for the monthly painting contest with pics in my blog:

They're the shotgunners, not the power mauls (which I totally want).

Thanks, that helps some. Do you know if there is a version just like the shotgunners but with a Boltgun or other similar looking weapon? I'm now 99% sure what I'm looking at are Arbites, Three look like the middle guy seen here: http://www.solegends.com/citcat1991a/cat1991ap035impforces-00.htm and one looks like the guy on the right. The fifth one looks to have the same armor as the shotgunners and grenadier you have, but I think he's holding a Boltgun. Automatically Appended Next Post: Nevermind, I found him. He's absolutely the Adeptus Arbites with Bolter seen here: http://www.solegends.com/citcat1993/cat1993p478-00.htm Lol, if I'd just looked through a little slower I wouldn't have missed the page the first time. Got any idea what these guys are worth?

There was a later (fanatic/specialist games) release of Arbites with boltguns, flamer, heavy stubber.

chromedog wrote: There was a later (fanatic/specialist games) release of Arbites with boltguns, flamer, heavy stubber. Very nice! Those guys look cool, but they're not what I'm looking at. Their helmets appear to have a visor of sorts and the eagle shoulder pad. The first one I identified has the mohawk and outstretched mace arm. He's what caught my eye initially. The three that look the same have the same lined shoulder pads as the first guy. The fifth that took me a bit has the eagle shoulder pad, but looks to have an eagle on his helmet as well. Also, their Boltguns are bulky and appear to have the same side mounted scope that later Cadian Kasrkin have. I'm not sure about exactly what that extra bulk is though. Now I just need to find out if the five are worth buying the whole thing to pull out. The rest of what is in their listing looks like similar models, but maybe from a different game entirely. I've scoured the '91 and '92 Imperial pages, but can't find anything that looks quite like them. One appears almost the same and I first though he was one as well, but his right hand is holding a pistol up at an almost right angle and his shoulder pads are a bumpy, bolted metal plates appearance. The rest look slightly smaller scale. Probably 25mm. I thought at first maybe they were Guardsmen, but I can't find them. The paintjob on the lot is killer on the eyes too, and the bright colors make details hard to see. Automatically Appended Next Post: Wait, I just noticed that page says "Necromunda." Are the new Enforcers faction units actually Aribtes?

This is a set I painted up and sold off about a bajillion years ago. They're not the first version of Arbites, but the second, released some time in the early 90's iirc.

Nice paintjob. You said you sold them, so what would you say the first and second version models are worth? Automatically Appended Next Post: youwashock wrote:Check out Heretic Tom's gallery. He recently put up some old Arbites.
Thanks, his do look good. But I've noticed that no one seems to have the second version Boltgun model. Do people just really like the Shotgun one or is the one with Boltgun really rare?

I don't think it was anything specifically to do with the model, so much as the fact that shotguns were just a better option. So that, combined with shotguns being a little more iconic, resulted in them being the more popular option to field, and therefore the more common model to own.

Well original Necromunda was before my time so I defer to you for that. I am surprised that Shotguns would have been valued above Boltguns, but the game was typically CQC from I've seen so I kind of get it. I guess that would make the Boltgun models rarer and thus more valuable to collectors now. Now I'm even more interested in finding out what their value is. Considering most old models go for $10-20 each on ebay, I'm starting to wonder if the one's I've found are actually a bargain.

Shotguns are pretty iconic in the Aribites role as riot cops. Plus Necromunda shottys were great because they blew your target backwards off gantries and things. And a bolt gun used fancy self propelled explosive ammo that was hard to find in the underhive. As for that release, I think those models just hit the market at a good time, when there was a successful game to support them... I bought mine at the peak of my Necromunda days.
Great paint jobs, everyone!,

The original Arbitrator models were for 40K rather than Necromunda. Shotguns were slightly shorter ranged, but had multiple ammo types, the potential to ignore cover, and were cheaper.
While I'm not familiar with the Necromunda Arbitrator or Enforcer rules, weapon-wise the above was true for Necromunda as well, with most Shotgun ammo types also having a better ammo roll than Bolters. I have a vague itch in the back of my brain suggesting that Arbitrators may not have failed ammo rolls... but even without that, shotguns were just better than bolters in every way except range, and that 6" shorter range doesn't really make a lot of difference on a typical Necromunda table.

Here's a scan of a catalog with the first Arbites minis that Citadel released. The mowhawk guy is among them, as well as a guy with a shotgun and one with a boltgun. http://www.solegends.com/citcat1991a/cat1991ap035impforces-00.htm

I honestly don't recall how much I sold them for. But they're not particularly valuable models in terms of dollars. I think I see them on ebay on occasion for 8-15 $US per model, from time to time. I don't think they're rare enough to command too high a price. Automatically Appended Next Post:

I've looked at buying it as a way to slowly ease (read cunningly trick) a D&D group I play with into playing (read wasting their life's saving on) Warhammer. More seriously, I think they might enjoy it from what little I've seen and learned. We always talk about getting a board/table set up for our D&D games, so they're definitely interested in a physical game type.
