So the title pretty much says it all; for those who have used the magna rack system (fixed and/or sliding) by Battlefoam, what are your impressions? Are there problems, or upsides. What's been your general experience of them.

Great for Warmachine specifically - I see them all the time at events. If you play Warmachine go for it

Not really good for 40k due to army size + vehicles. People that play AoS/40k tend to then carry a magna rack + normal battlefoam roller case for vehicles.

I love battlefoam - but I like their regular product.

I'm already thinking that I'll need a "pack plus" or a foam layer for some of the taller models like keepers, cauldrons and the like. For warmachine I'd figure some of the really big resin beasts like the archangel and such might also use a similar rack and foam approach.

I feel like I'm forever going to be the "2-3 case" guy now. Living in the city its so annoying to carry. I might splurge on one of those huge roller cases eventually.

oh wait do you own an archangel? I think you mentioned it in the other thread where we spoke about the Harridan

Yep, but I'm a long way off needing to transport it - heck my everblight has seen very little action sadly. I'm just hoping that a MKIV gives PP a big boost in the UK in popularity once corona lockdowns are properly gone and the game scene gets going again. It's a freaking awesome dragon model. But very big and tall. Thankfully for warmachine the armies aren't "too huge".

Unlike my Tyranids where I was starting to think that carrying anything but a hoard of gaunts was becoming more and more impossible. Whilst I love lots of monsters once you're dealing with Tervigons and trygons and exoctines and winged hive tyrants you start to really run out of space fast with foam in planning how you'll get all the models to fit. And that's before you've even added a single zoanthrope or other mid-sized beast.

The best State-Texas

I use the Mangarack for both AoS and WH40k

That being said, it works much better for AoS. For instance, I can fit nearly my entire Sylvaneth army on just two Mangarack trays, not counting terrain. I LOVE the mangna racks for AoS, can't beat it.

The problem with 40k comes with stuff like Flyers, Winged Hive Tyrants and things of that nature. I'm in the process of magnetizing a lot of my vehicles that use flying stands, but the reality is you'll probably have to use Foam + magnaracks for stuff like flyers as there is no real good way to transport them.

For massed infantry, most MC, and anything that doesn't use flying stands or have some crazy height, the manga racks work VERY well. Much better than foam.
