Uhmm... where do we get the cyclic ion blasters given that the box doesn't have them?

In terms of weapons this is all the XV8 Crisis Battlesuit GW page says:

"One miniature can be optionally assembled as a Shas'vre, with special head and chest plate, and there's a prodigious amount of advanced T'au weaponry in the box: four plasma rifles, three flamers, four fusion blasters, four burst cannons, three missile pods and three shield generators."

Help?

The Commander box comes with a single CIB.

Most players either convert them, buy them from bits sites (when available- rare because everyone else has the same idea), 3D print their own, or buy prints from Shapeways.

Their rarity in kits is sort of a throwback to earlier editions where the CIB was supposed be a super rare prototype weapon, and you could only field one in your army.

Of course, this isnt the only case in the game of a part you might want to spam being quite difficult to get in any quantity, and there often isnt a legacy excuse for it!

eBay has a good few, of course their stock is variable. Red Dog Minis had a bunch of good Tau stuff, but they are closed due to Corona.

IIRC it was in a metal upgrade kit?
Then the new Commander kit had one it it.
But yeah, it was a special upgrade not a standard issue weapon so it wasn't in the regular Crisis kit.

Its actually pretty weird you can put them on Crisis suits since they've been getting rid of wargear options that don't come with the kits or an upgrade sprue. (Same with the fragmentation projector)

Thanks guys! It's incredible how GW makes it so hard for people to complete a figure. But I guess it's all part of their marketing plan. So long as it's not so draconic, I'm all for keeping them alive.

Hmm I might have convert then.

If your not magnatising your suits I would hold off for 9th edition rules. But if your magnetise go right ahead as with the new terrain rules and all tge points being thrown up in the air what is the best weapons for suits may well change alot.

Thanks for the tip! I magnetize. Cheaper (and more fun!) that way. ^_^
