Ok, I wanted to ask people who live in Britain a question about something that bugs me and i can't figure out:
Why has there never been a reboot of Blake's 7? That honestly strikes me as a no brainer, a zero effort decision.
One stupid theory I heard was that B7 was seen as endorsing terrorism, as it was about rebels trying to bring down a legal government., and Britain had a lot of trouble with IRA terrorists. By that metric star wars should have been banned in Britain so I don't buy it.
I guess it's up to the BBC and I guess people in Britain know the BBC better than other users here, so why no B7 reboot?

I suspect it mostly money, as to redo it to modern standards is unlikely without a streaming service taking an interest its unfeasible on UK telly money especially for a niche show pushing 40 its also missed the 20/30 year nostaliga window, and anyway we need a Robin of Sherwood reboot more (oooo the hooded man)

I can recommend the books and audio dramas released of late that continue the saga.

It's weird that the BBC seem to have taken a step back from the "not Dr Who" projects that aired when Who was in the off season.
We had Merlin, the other Robin Hood thing, Atlantis plus one or two other one season wonders I'm sure I'm forgetting.
But I guess Strictly Not In The Least Bit Entertaining is much cheaper to produce.

Reboots of Blake's 7 got mooted over the years, but has been said, the money and the will never got off the ground. The Big finish audio dramas are the best bet for a B7 nostalgia feast.
The various TV shows of Robin never seem to better the 80's Robin of Sherwood. Hmm might have to crack open the DVDs again...

The SyFy channel ordered a full season of B7 quite recently (5 years or so) yet it then appears to have turned into vapourware.
So that eliminates money and/or will, if a network is willing to actually publicly announce they're paying for a season to be made, and suggests something a little more convoluted.

Later in 2008, Sky One announced it had commissioned two 60-minute scripts for a potential series but two years later said it had decided not to proceed. Remaking it does seem a bit problematic... Star Trek: The Next Generation has an episode banned in the UK because it says the IRA won, and apparently other shows also have had episodes banned.
