Y'all know the drill. Two days to vote on next month's theme. Your options for August are:


Mastermind: Intellect is a deadly weapon, whether put to work forging a masterful strategy, developing peerless technology or bent towards the study of supernatural and magical forces. Your entry should feature models famed for their mental prowess.

Upgrade: From a questing hero picking up a magic blade to a kitted-out specialist toting the very beast gear to a creature fearsomely enhanced by technology or arcane science, your entry should feature models whose equipment or nature gives them greater capability than their peers.

Unlikely Hero. From diminutive halflings destroying rings of power to farmboys taking down a devastatibg superweapon, the greatest heroes often come from the most humble origins. Whether written in fiction or in their own exploits on the tabletop, your entry should feature models with a similar tale of success in the face of impossible odds. ,

Death From Above: Dragons or dogfighters, jetpacks or wings, many individuals and creatures do their most deadly work from on high. Your entry should feature such airborne models.

I’d have to dig for an unlikely hero. The rest are easy.

These are all good themes, but I have something in the queue which fits "mastermind", so I went with that.

Ditto, but with "Death From Above". Kind of wish I hadn't painted storm guardians this month, or they could be my 'unlikely heroes' for next month - they are much maligned as being useless, after all.

I went for death from above just for something different. Not because I recently picked up an Egrimm Van Horstmann on eBay. That had nothing to do with it.

I have Haarken Worldclaimer to paint so went with death from above

Death from Above is feeling too specific, but I could find something for any of the others... going with Mastermind for my vote.

Unlikely hero, I've got an old skink chief I feel like painting.

Choosing Death from Above. It is an excellent excuse to paint my Suppressors from Shadowspear.

If you needed to stretch death from above, you could probably work in something that delivers death onto people’s heads. Archers shooting hails of arrows, artillery, orbital bombardment, that sort of thing. Less with the wings and jet packs, but still stuff you want a solid roof above you for.

You can air-drop anything once!

It's neck and neck. I have Daemon Magnus primed and ready so I guess he's relevant to both..

I've had a Flash Git waiting for paint for ages, so went for Upgrade to finally get him done. Have something for any of them though

Indeed! Honestly if I can even just inspire a few people to chase those painting goals and ideals a little further than they might otherwise, then I'm happy.

I think I might do something completely different for a change. I've had reaper's Mr Grimm sat in a blister for years doing nothing. He looks like he's masterminding some scheme or other.

Luckily my new born is 4 now and practically looks after himself, but as said congrats and farewell sleep
