With the new rules, it seems doing pretty good in my games at 170 pts with an overlord. What s your opinion ? Hope the upcoming codex will make it viable !

It's pretty nice. Blast makes it considerably scarier and its great for scoring engage on all fronts.

It's a bit niche but there are some units it'll certainly help against, such as Skyweavers, Vertus Praetors, Ironstriders.

Yep exactly, my vertus and my allarus got deleted by it and the DDA

All which generally are seen as 5 strong now. And not just due to blast but also coherency. So...d3 shots isn't that hot.
Mobility is pretty much only point in their favour but necrons have better units for that role. Now that the stratagem is basically worthless it's pretty hard to justify them just for speed.

I still hate the unit. D3 is just not enough for a big gun, especially with random damage. It's also painfully easy to shoot down.
Hopefully the Codex will fix it but I doubt it.

It an ok unit right now. It has some anti infantry, a bit anti armour, it can leave the battlefield and return anywhere as strategic reserve, and it can help you with engage on all fronts and linebreaker.

Aircrafts can't score linebreaker. But anyway, you'd probably always take engage on all fronts since its much easier to get full points

Right, it's weird they can score engage on all fronts, but not linebreaker. It's 3 VP when you are in all quarters, and 4 when you linebreak. Not much of a difference.

I just find engage to be much easier to score since you can be in the midboard and still get the points for it.
