Hi people ! So one of my friend who also plays necron told me that he considered necrons wouldn't be able to hold up in 9th ed (except of they received a major boost in the next codex). So I decided to try to assemble a list that could hold its own just to prove him false. What do you think of the following list ?

++ Battalion Detachment 0CP (Necrons) ++

+ Configuration +

Battle Size: 3. Strike Force (101-200 Total PL / 1001-2000 Points)

Detachment CP

Dynasty Choice
. Dynasty: Nephrekh: Dynastic Code: Translocation Beams

+ Stratagems +

Dynastic Heirlooms: Dynastic Heirlooms: 1 Extra Artefact

+ HQ +

Cryptek: Canoptek Cloak, Staff of Light

+ Troops +

Immortals: 10x Immortal, Tesla Carbine

Immortals: 10x Immortal, Tesla Carbine

Immortals: 8x Immortal, Tesla Carbine

+ Elites +

C'tan Shard of the Nightbringer: Gaze of Death, Scythe of the Nightbringer

Skorpekh Destroyers
. Plasmacyte: Monomolecular Proboscis
. Skorpekh Destroyer (Reap-Blade): Hyperphase Reap-Blade
. 2x Skorpekh Destroyer (Thresher): 2x Hyperphase Threshers

Doesn t get Much better ! Still not sure of the skorpekh tho but I can see their utility! I m Also à fan of doom scythe in 9th, new rules made them great!

You play against what ?

Top challengers of 9th ed : custodes and DG. Sadly, blast weapons aren't useful against them.

I wasn't certain about the skorpekhs, but CC is pretty much a certainty in 9 ed. I haven't played a game in which it didn't end up at cc (sometime as soon as second turn). The Skorpekhs aren't top CC units, but at least it's something to throw at the opponent. I hope necrons get a boost cc wise.

What the doomscythes are supposed to do? No stratagem that was only thing that made them worth using. Deathray isnt' that useful as AT weapon and are soft and easy to take out. Stalker could do much the same role except cheaper and tougher and easier to hide.

I really like the list but I have 2 suggestions:

Due to the ease of -1 to hit, and the upcoming extended range of Gauss, Tesla is not such a great option now in my opinion.

Your list is a good hard hitter, but you may struggle on the objective game. I reckon you could hold your own objectives quite well, but going after your opponents objectives is going to be tricker.
