I love so many of the Nighthaunt ghost models but, good lord, the very tiny little bits of cloak and whatnot that connect them to the base make me anxious.
Has anyone foregone the standard basing and gone the flight stand/acrylic rod route?

I just built the ones I have as is. Some of them are hollow inside, so where would you attach the stand?

I did a little pinning on Manfred. Lot of weight on that tail, and I had to rebuild it after a lamp fell on him.

All you need is a drill bit and a file.
File down the end of a plastic rod to about 2mm dia, then drill a 2mm hole in the center mass of the model. Even if the model is hollow there is enugh material there to attatch the rod.

I don't use GW flight stands for anything because I don't like the air bubbles within the rods. I bought clear acrylic rod from eBay instead.

I don't see using flight stands being worth the extra trouble of drilling and avoiding painting it, at least for regular joe ghosts. Some larger models could use some structural support but even then I would try achieve it with strategically placed basing elements such as gravestone or dead trees. The idea is that it reduces wobbling by providing additional contact point to the base.
