I know there is a generally released list of all blast weapons, but since im somewhat new i dont know what is inherently an ork weapon and what isnt and where they generally belong to.

Is there someone who has already made such list? Which weapons are blast weapons for orks, and maybe which units that have them?

thanks in advance.

Not that I'm aware of, I'd just plan a list and when you look at a unit just check the options vs the list in the book.

Off top of my head the shokk attak gun on the big mek, grotzookas on kans, kannons of any kind on battlewagons are, any grandes or bombs are. Not sure beyond that.

Almost every non-autohit random shot weapon is blast. Very few exceptions.

Yup, everything in the codex that does not autohit and does get random shots is a blast weapon.

Including Smasha Guns and Kustom Mega Kannons, woohoo!

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"

"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"

Rokkit kannons for scrapjets also. And the main squigbuggy weapons. Those are weapons that lots of people seem to forget they have the Blast rule.

I'll be honest I forget most weapons have the blast rule because it comes up so, so rarely. I've literally only fired 1 weapon that had any benefit from blast (and it was a hevy 2d3 gun so it literally would have only mattered if I rolled a 1 and a 1 and I never did) and I've only had full blast lobbed at me 1 time which was a battlecannon shooting a 15-man hellion squad.

So far in 9th I have kept track of the number of 6+ model units I've faced in games.

Game 1 - one 10-man cultist squad
Game 2 - none
Game 3 - one 7-man death company squad, one 8-man sanguinary guard squad
Game 3 - none
Game 4 - two! But then they combat squadded when they got out of their transports. So 0.
Game 5 - one 10-man Wraithblade squad, the aforementioned 2d3 shot weapon was a helverin's autocannons so it did KIND OF matter but never ended up mattering
Game 6 - none
Game 7 - (was even against orks! He ran an outrider detachment as his army.)
Game 8 - none, vs nids, again just chose to run no squads over 5

Amusingly, in nearly all of those games I had at least one squad over 11, blasts just basically never came up because people dont seem to be bringing 'em.

huh, good to know. That would mean my Rattler Kannon from Chinork is also a blast weapon? it fires 2D6

I basically remember the rule for those weapons that I actually played with the plastic blast/small blast in older editions. A model like the scrapjet didn't exist before 8th so it has always been DX shots, and remembering that it now has the blast rule isn't automatic; I actually forgot it a few times already as 2-3 scrapjets are a staple in my lists (and have been even in 8th) but not many targets trigger the bonus.

The squigbuggy I've never played it anyway

No, it's not. Machine gun kind of weapons don't have the blast special rule. Like lootas' autocannons which also have random number of shots but they're not blasts.

alright.

So if it has D3/D6 hits but isnt something that sounds like machine gun, then in general, its a blast weapon?

Basically yes, there was a list somewere with all the weapons that gained the blast special rule but I don't know how to find it anymore. Flamers equivalents are also random shots but not blasts.

It's in the BRB Appendix.

I also believe that any forgeworld units (EG gargantuan squiggoths) have been missed.

So a Lobba is a blast weapon; a Supa-Lobba is not. thus a gargantuan squiggoth can fire 2 3D6 shot lobbas in combat, but cannot fire a D6 shot killkannon.

At least it makes up for the lack of massed-attacks somewhat!
