From my research, I really didn't see that many winning UM lists using fliers or repulsor executioners. I already have 2 of each models sitting unopened that I am on the fence about returning because:

1. I have my complete UM army in a single shelf spaced out in a way that does not seem cluttered.
2. The army on the shelf is obviously built with smooth sprues so it's ready for barrel drilling and priming. I am eager to start the paint process after putting together all those units.

While I like the look of both the fliers and executioners, I am hesitant to add them if they are just going to sit there. I rather save any potential space for future primaris troops choices. It just seems as a chapter, Ultramarines is a troop heavy chapter.

Thanks in advance for the suggestions

I don't think the Repulsor Executioner is a good take for Ultramarine. They will just DIE in your first turn, if you are lucky you get go first, it may shot a Rhino / Leman Russ Commander or a Maulerfiend Daemon Engine plus killing maybe 1 chaff units less than 10 men strong and that's it. If you go second, good luck and prey your 350pts level tank could only drop to its lowest bracket before doing anything. It basically not worth to take.

For aircraft, I suggest you take those Stormtalons, put them behind tall buildings or in reserve if don't have tall ruins in your side. They are cheap for what they do. It is best to use them strafing run enemy chaff troops off the objective. Denying them their that VP scoring for that battle round. While helping you get "engage on all front" VP.

yeah for the point cost, and specially after the aura changes, I returned both of the sealed repulsor exe. I also ended up returning the storm talons. With the terrain rules and due to tournaments not having a ton of terrain, I ended up deciding to return those as well. I got into this so I can eventually go to local places to play and from what I have seen not many places have as good selection of terrain as I have here.

I listed everything I got. For being completely new to the hobby a month ago, I am proud that all of this gak is now assembled and primed. If you got a few, feel free to suggest a balanced list to start with.

The only thing I got in addition to the list above were a squad of Aggressors with flamers, Bladeguard Veteran Squad, Primaris Librarian, Primaris Captain, and another Judiciar

I stopped bringing them in 8th because of the feel bads they created from all the shots against non-marine players. Especially with the ultra strat of overwatching something with 2 repulsors and aggressors all at once.

Happy to say in 9th they dont preform as well as if they're charged now you can still back away and shoot... but at -1 to hit. Plus this game highly encourages moving around which makes ultra castles more difficult to manage and win by objective.

They're still good, but never bring just 1. It'll die. If you bring 2 though you might win just from t1 alpha alone if you're lucky with a CM and LT buffing them

it was a boring way to play. Spending several hundred dollars and hours of putting together an army just to boringly park at the back.

It's fine enough if you're playing against ork or tyranid hordes and it feels thematic that they're rushing the last line / ray of hope for the planet... it's just against those armies especially marines would just tear through them to the point where it wasn't fair.

With the new CORE rules, I don't see the value in high cost vehicle weapons platforms now. Maybe as a distraction, but it's almost a quarter of your points. Infantry will be the better anti-tank anyway, with the new double shooting melta boys or the melta bikes, or the melta landspeeders.

Don't take.

Yeah I bought multiple vehicles but didnt get around building them since:

-I was sick of building stuff
- Points seem too crazy
-Didnt seem to blend too well with UM vs other chapters
-Not as easy to transport

As soon as the new aura rules came out, I dropped them off at the post office
