My little boy is showing interest in 40K so I'm looking for a complete Battle for Vedros Starter Set. Have cash/paypal. Located in Montana but will be in San Bernardino/Ontario area all week and willing to meet up.

I have to ask, is there a specific reason you want the Battle for Vedors Starter Set as opposed to a current production starter set? For something OOP for that long you will most likely have a hard time finding one NiB that isn't asking you to pay a premium of 1.5-2x it's original selling price.

If your heart is set on it however, here's a link to one on ebay that's asking 2.7x it's original retail price (according to the one article I was able to find that mentioned it's original retail price), but includes free shipping.

Honestly, I'd just get the current Recruit Starter Set for him since it's both cheaper and incudes current rules, but I understand you may have a specific reason for wanting the older Starter Set.

I went ahead and picked up the Indomitus box from my LGS. I had wanted the BfV box simply because it was aimed at kids and had an oversimplified ruleset.

The Indomitus box is now entirely assembled so I will do some easy starter games with them that add rules and abilities as he gets the hang of it.

Thanks!

Let me see what I can do.

I'll pm you in a few days.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

Ah, I didn't know it had simplified rules for kids. Good to hear you got something good though. I'm actually surprised your local store still had an Indomitus set in stock, but it's a good buy if you enjoy it and fairly easy to get your money back in the resale market if you don't. I think getting the current edition and starting with just basic rules, then slowly introducing more complicated ones is a great idea.

Yeah, I was shocked too. This last Friday they still had 5-6 of them, probably because I live in a city that doesn't have many tabletop gamers. I was surprised nobody bought them all to break up and sell on eBay with the current half and sprue prices.

Same, that was my thoughts exactly. Makes me wonder if my local store still has any. I might take a look and see. I'm still trying to get my hands on as box of DI so maybe someone will trade one for Ind.
