Subject: Do you recommend Siege Studios for commissions? How is their quality?

Hello all, I'm looking to get a space marine combat patrol painted via commission (so just a small detachment of troops) to basic tabletop, or if budget permits (my budget is around 800USD) based on quotes, a slightly above tabletop standard. Does anyone here have any experience with Siege Studios UK, for example their pricing and their quality.
Siege offers 4 levels from Bronze to Platinum. However, I am struggling to see the difference between their different levels. I don't see any difference from Bronze to Silver and neither do I see any difference between Silver and Gold. If I am missing something, can anyone be kind enough to point out?
Finally, any recommendations on commissions - I will be grateful to know!

I see the difference, but I also warn you against doing commission overseas due to law differences if anything should go wrong, you really should look at commissions regionally before going overseas.
I recommend Frontline gaming, I have worked for them about a yr before doing it on my own.

I wouldnt, I asked for a quote to commision my old metal necromunda minis, for 14 gang members they wanted £500 so say around 750 of you american dollars.
That was for tabletop standard for the gangers and silver for the leader.

First you need to ask yourself how many hours it will take to paint to the required standard then divide that by your £500 quote, you'll probably find it's actually not an unreasonable hourly wage. (I'm not saying that in a nasty way) Then consider the value of the individuals talent to paint to said standard.

Have you seen the Van Saar leader?
They wanted 15hrs @ £225
The rest I would have paid for but half the commision was the leader so no it wasnt worth it.
I dont even think the eavy metal team spent that time on one mini, maybe the whole gang.

Now that does seem a little odd - £112.50 for a model that is no different than the rest of the squad outside a bit of extra work on a plasma, fair play there dude (though its £15 hourly, which really isn't that bad in the world of art I guess)

To help you see the difference in qualities:
Bronze: I only see base coats and partial edge highlights.
Silver: base coats, full edge highlights and blackline shading.
Gold: airbrushed gradients on the base coats, more involved highlights and shading.

Wah, wah, wah, artists want paying, enough to eat and cover overheads. So do the folks that project manage it all.
Siege are decent, work with a lot of talented folks outsourced as well as maintaining a studio. I've heard no real horror stories about them and they definitely work on maintaining their rep.
Rybrook; a special character is often a week in the 'eavy metal schedule. That's 37.5 hours.

Look closer. Bronze level doesn't have highlights or color transitions. Silver has some high lighting and freehand. Gold has serious highlights and freehand and effects.
