This is Version 1.0 of my Custodes list with plans to have a 1-2k side board to mix n match but for the most part this seems to be my list for play. The plan is to park the Sagittarum on a backline objective or a midline one and gun stuff down while the 2 3x Guard squads try to grab either side obj or push up using LOS. Telemon will be sticking with the Vexilus and maybe a squad of Guard to be a distraction and pick at scary stuff while Trajan follows either the bikes or Squad pushing up with the Telemon/Vexilus. Then my Terminators drop in hopefully with the Vex/Trajann nearby and blow some key stuff off the board and then RUSH into melee. Any tips or what not would be great.

Looks pretty solid, although I'd make 2 small tweaks:

- I usually prefer a ratio of 3:2 with Hurricane Bolters/Salvos, 1 Salvo doesn't really cut it in my opinion.
- Either give the Telemon 2 fists for +1 attack, combined with the +1A Strat, or two ranged weapons for a good dakkabot, which also means you can get the most out of the double-tap Spiculus.

See i've seen the way people play with him and its as a backline that slowly pushes forward and 90% of games he's either blown off the board or forced into melee, so i figured having 1 and 1 i cover both grounds and threatens anyone trying to tie him up. And the list is pretty off i gotta update this is 8th ed points wise.

Seems like you’re pretty standard Custodes list with some FW flare I saw a list almost identical to this one play recently and it did very well the heavy Dread in that battle did almost nothing missed or failed to wound everything BUT had the rolls been better I think it would have done an amazing job!

Yeah the problem wiith elite armies is once you find a niche that works theres nothing else youll really see. My back-up /side board includes 3 Galatus Dreads because i like the idea of 3 Sword and Board bots just fething decking it up board or being CP dropped in and doing some cleaning.

I've personally run a similar list swapping the Guard for more Sag. Guard, and replacing the Jetbikes for a Caladius or two. I've run the list against competitive Ultramarines and Death Guard lists and the Telemon hasn't actually died at all. Duty Eternal is brilliant on the Telemon, and I personally feel it's more useful as a dakkadread rather than a CC one.

Yeah i know, im maganetzing it's weapons 100%, but idk i think im just overly cautious and like having the fist to "threaten" those that dare come into melee. And how do Sag Guard do for you? From most games i've seen them in they just kind of are MEH? Like they do good, but 3 S5 AP 1 shots seem ...not great? idc either way im running them i like the models.

Combined with Valoris' rerolling 1's to wound they can be pretty decent. The limit on hit modifiers helps them significantly, as if you know the target's got a -1 from cover for example, you might as well advance and fire your Adrastus Beam as well for no additional penalty.

3 S5 Ap-1 shots might not seem too good, but they're a step above the standard Guardian in terms of ranged output. I suspect they may become D2 in the new book but we'll have to wait and see.

Might also be worth looking at some Venatari. I usually run 3 with pistols, pop a couple of strats and suddenly they're doing 4x S6 Ap-2 D2 shots each, which cause 2 autowounds on a 6 to hit.

Yeah i was looking into Venatari they seem very interesting. Definetly something I thought about inclduing in a 1-2k side board to just shuffle in.

The idea of this list to DUMP like 9 total CP on stuff pre battle and send the Galatus Noughts/Allarus/Vex into Golden Light/battle reserves while the guardians/captain/Trajann grab objectives and hide then turn 2 hard drop in and feth some gak up with rerolling charges + dread host stratagem.

I'm guessing you're using Light of the Moriades, which can be pretty decent but it'll leave you with almost no CP in a pretty CP-heavy army. Not sure why you're running it as a Vanguard. Personally I'd swap out 1 or 2 Galatus with an Achillus but this does look like a fun list to try.

The Galatus are place Holder and i like the idea of the -1 to hit in melee and the -1 to hit from ranged attacks from the Vexilla, but the Vexilla i'd probably drop that one and pick up the +1 to attacks and just make his WL trait the psychic one. It's a list meant to just see what happens in turn 2 and hope you do enough that they can't do too much back to you and incase they can the +4 invuln shields are there plus a 6+ FNP on the naughts.

Meawnile you use Trajann for the Free Stratagem probably on Moriades to allow 3 things to reroll charges leaving you with 4-5 CP.
