I started this on another thread, but because some expressed interest, and it will likely take me awhile, I thought I would start my own thread.
I came up with the idea when I saw Studio Miniatures excellent line of Monty Python themed figs. I would have like to do them as Bretonia, what with all the grail stuff, but they just didn't have the troop types to go along with my vision.
So it became an Empire army. I wanted to select types that were close to the characters from the movie as I could and still maintain a "legal" list.
Since I live out in the middle of no where and basically am a soloist, a power list doesn't really matter. So this list will be a bit character heavy, but hopefully will "feel" right.
And as we used to say as a kid in the 60s - "If it feel right, do it!"

With that, here are my first two "units" Hellblaster Volley Guns

The Green Knight (who says "Nee!") will eventually have a crew from the forest knights.

The HVG seemed like a good fit for these guys.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I have sketched out the army list - and it will look something like this (BWh = barded warhorse)
Few of my units have a leader, as I find it less valuable than flags or musicians. So sometimes below a unique character is the flag, not the leader.
If the model doesn't hold a banner, I will put it behind him on a pole.

Arthur, King of the Britons (Lord): Excalibur (Runefang), plate & shield, BWh

Lancelot (Lord): Obsidian blade, plate & shield, BWh, Talisman of preservation

Galahad (Warrior priest): Ogre blade, heavy armor, enchanted shield, BWh

Bedivire (ASB): Lance, plate. Shield, BWh, Steel Banner

The Wise Man (Engineer)

Tim the Enchanter (Level 2 Wizard) dispel scroll, ruby ring

“Bring out your dead” (Level 1 wizard) Warrior’s Bane, van Horstmn's Speculum, horse,

This guy's sole purpose is to challenge enemy heroes.

7 Knightly Orders; Razor Standard (Sir Robin) & Musician (Minstrels)

40 Swordsmen of swamp castle: Leader (Lord of Swamp Castle) musician (his son - because he would rather sing)

This unit will also include the rude French Knights (Or they may be put with the great swordsmen_

33 Archers (I may make them an allied contingent of Bretonian longbows)

15 Great swordsmen: flag (Black Knight)

1 Three Headed Giant (Mercenary)

1 Hell Blaster (Brother Maynard & Holy Hand Grenade)

1 Hell Blaster (Green Knight who says, “Nee!”)

1 Luminark (white rabbit for bolt attack, Black Beast for Chariot attacks)
This was the most comparable unit I could think of

Fantastic work so far. Instantly recognisable and very promising.
Can't wait to see what comes next.

I'd love to see your ranks of great swords men in lines like the Knights In camalot dancing on the tables.

I hope your characters on Bwh's will be the two figures on a cavalry base like Arthur and Patsy or Lancelot and Concord. It's as good as any horse!

Any room for the political peasants? Or how about Zoot if she's not too perilous?
