Over the past year, every now and again I've been rebasing my Anglo Danes. They have been in a seemingly perpetual state of having no bases, no filler, no texture, paint nor tufts. After a day of being knee deep in my studio on one of my famous tidying up jobs (yeah, it's worse then ever!) I had to stop and do something wargames related, though technically that's what my studio is!

So, here they are rebased! I remember when I removed the last bases they took a bit of punishment as I has superglued them to the bases, a mistake that I will never make again! It was noticeable that there was the odd chip that needed touching up so please, if you find any in the images please don't point them out to me!

The idea is to rebase them for the rules that the guys are playing at the club (WAB, To the Strongest) and for rules that I plan to introduce to the club (Swordpoint and Dux Bellorum).

There are more pictures on my blog plus a list of manufacturers etc here:

I normally glue figs to bases with Elmer's white glue (school glue) it makes it easy to remove, and can add texture to the base etc...Very nice work!

Yeah, me too. These were based about a decade back.

They are beautiful. I noticed that you like to paint the wood on the weapons in several different styles. It certainly adds to the visual appeal.

The secret to painting a really big army is to keep at it. You can't reach your destination if you never take any steps.

I build IG...lots and lots of IG.

Different wood color is a great idea.

I am not an expert in the period at all, but can someone breakdown the different between Anglo-saxons, Anglo-Danes, and Straight up Danes for me? Is it just a who settled where issue, or are their actual military, structural differences?
