Subject: Current rules for Grot Mega Tank confusion

Hi All,
I am struggling a bit to figure out which are the current rules for the Grot Mega Tank by FW. I hope one of you grot meks can help me out.
Wahapedia and my old FW Imperial Armour has these special rules listed:
Mutiny!: At the start of the Shooting phase, roll a D6. On a 1, none of this model’s weapons may be fired this turn as a fight breaks out inside the tank. On a 6, the Grot crew fall in line and follow the Kommanda’s orders too literally and the model’s weapons must all be fired at the same target, but add 1 to the hit rolls.
Full Speed Ahead!: Grot Mega-tanks have a Movement value of 2D6", and this must be rolled for at the beginning of each Movement phase.
Rolling Scrap Pile: Grot Mega-tanks have an invulnerable save of 6+.
Explodes: If this model is reduced to 0 wounds, roll a D6 before removing it from the battlefield. On a 6 it explodes, and each unit within 3" suffers D3 mortal wounds.
But when I try and create an army list in BattleScribe (latest ver.) base cost is 5 pts less, and the special rules are different.
It has different speeds for different health bands. When at full health it has 6+D6 for example.
Also, it has
Dakka dakka dakka, explodes and
Ramshackle Roll a D6 each time this model suffers damage from an attack that has a Damage characteristic of more than 1. On a roll of 6, reduce the damage caused by the Attack to 1.
No mention of mutiny.
Which is correct, and where can I find the latest rules? (sorry, I really tried to google it before asking. Bad Google Fu)
Cheers,
S.

Excellent, thanks guys! Knowing the name of the book, I was able to find a very helpful YouTube video that gave me an overview of all the changes I needed to know. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fvv14xVrYoM&feature=emb_logo&ab_channel=Sprues%26Brews
Still going to get the book, but living out in the sticks with somewhat .... <ahem> parcel disappearance prone postal services, it'll have to wait til I can move around again after covid. Meanwhile I can at least tinker with some army lists.
On that note, the mega tank has gotten quite a bit better. What's your verdict for competitiveness? Is it still only just silly?
Best regards,
S.

I have both a megatank and several grot tanks (for my 2000 point grot army O.o) and at this point the only unit holding the army back from being decent is grots themselves, which are still just terrible.
I like the tanks, I like mek gunz, I'm ok with Kanz, and the HQs are obviously functional as always. Grots...well, you run them in cheeky zoggerz and you stick painboyz next to them and they've got a 6++/6+ FNP and that's, acceptable.

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"
"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"
"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"
"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!" |
