Now that the compendium (that I still haven't laid hands on) is out, does anyone know if it updated the language of hover mode for vendettas? As they read right now, the airborne keyword is lost .. but the airCRAFT is not, which prevents cover from applying or obscuring terrain from helping this flyer.

I am curious if this is an artifact of my old astra militarum codex, or if the intent is to keep valkyries and vendettas (even in ground hugging hover mode) unable to use LOS blocking stuff or gain defense cover. It seems to be the worst of both worlds -- no cover effects cause you are too high, and no protection from angry grots charging you because you are hugging the ground, where even gaurdsmen can leap a bit and stick you with their sharp and pointy gunsticks.

Am I interpreting this wrong / have I been gimping my planes my whole life for no reason?

The Vendetta uses the "Hover Jet" rule from the Valkyrie Datasheet from Codex: Astra Copywritum. The "Hover Jet" rule causes the model to lose certain special rules, but does not affect keywords in any way.

In other words, Vendettas always have the AIRCRAFT keyword.
