I’ve been experimenting with a boy spam list. I’ve had a few games with goffs and Gaz. He’s great and all and goffs are great, but I don’t like being kept in a bubble. Big mek bubble, gaz bubble and all that. So I though I’d go for DS so I can be all over the board. I wanted to really exploit the obsec and the rerolls, so I added some rokkits with my boys. Kommandos goes in the trukk with the 3 meganobz as bodies if the trukk is killed. The warboss and the wierdboy has one waagh bubble each so I can split my forces effectively. I dunno a noob speaking here, I’d like to hear your opinion.

Ditch the painboy and get Grotsnik, he's a mini warboss with all the painboy's abilties. There's no possible scenario in which a regular doc is a better choice than him if you take Deathskulls.

You have little firepower and that unit of stormboyz makes no sense. Split into into 2 min squad or ditch it completely. 3-4 Smasha Gunz would be a much better option.

Swtich the kombi rokkit from a nob to the warboss, you'd gain a re-roll as the nob is still part of the boyz squad.

Thanks for your input! I get the storm boyz. Split them into 2x6 boyz. Hmmm.. 25p more than a painboy for grotsnik, +1 WS, FnP and T. Is that worth it for the price of 3 boys? I guess, I dropped 2 storm boys, 1 from each 6 boy unit. Makes them immune to blast rule as well.

You have a spare Elites slot. Perhaps drop the boyz with rokkits from the mobs and use a unit of tankbustas instead? You get rerolls to hit vehicles and bomb squigs you do not have now.

There are a few reasons why i didn't go for tankbustas. Firstly they're an easy target, even in a trukk, they're pretty easy to get rid of. Secondly, they need resources to work well, i need to get them a truck or "da jump" them to an efficient location with their 24" range. Thirdly, I think they're pretty mediocre, BS:5 is so bad and the range isn't enough, I don't know, they just don't work well for me. With orks i feel i need to play their forté and that is without a doubt up close and personal. I put rokkits with my boys because they acn make use of the DS reroll and i never fit an entire unit of boys into close combat, so they might as well hang out in the back.

About Tankbustas: invest 1 CP to outflank them. 10 tankbustas + 4 bomb squigs are no joke. At least they have full re-rolls against vehicles and bomb squigs hit on 2s (also re-rollable against vehicles). BS5+ with full re-rolls is better than BS4+. They're actually a legit unit to consider, even for a footslogging oriented army.

24'' after outflanking/deep striking is very good, Eradicators have the same range, and melta bonus kicks in only within 12'' but no one complains about their range.

Problem with rokkits on boyz is they probably want to advance and they're not cheap either, +30 points per unit. If the unit is locked in combat, and boyz love to fight, they can't fire at all. Equipping Deathskulls boyz with rokkits is a valid choice, although my experience with them (I also play Deathskulls, but smaller squads in trukks or wagons) is that they're a very sub optimal option. Dedicated shooty units, including tankbustas, are way more efficient.

Great input, It really gave me something to consider. My issue is that they die before they make up for their points.
