Not sure if this is the correct place for this request, but seemed the most appropriate.

I've been out of 40K for like ten years for various reasons. I last regularly played back in 5th edition.

I saw a model recently that has re-inspired me to play again. I've been interested in playing a bike heavy White Scars list for almost 20 years since back when "White Scars" just referred to a paint scheme. I've been considering actually sitting down and doing this for a couple of years, but I really think SM bike models are just plain ugly. But, I came across a model online for the unit that I've fallen in love with, and I would love to see a bunch of them on the table top.

My problem is that I have been out of the hobby so long that I have no idea where to begin with making a functional bike heavy White Scars list in the current edition. I've searched online, but not really found anything that gives me the kind of pointers I'm looking for. I'm not looking for something that is 100% bikes, but rather an army that primarily features units and characters on bikes.

Any suggestions for a list, or is there anywhere I could be pointed that might help me come up with an effective list? (I used to be very active in tournaments, so I'd prefer a list that is not hopelessly useless on the tabletop, if that's possible.) I'm trying to get an idea of the army I want to build before I start laying down money on models.

I really appreciate any advice y'all can offer.

Thanks in advance.

My advice is probably really bad cause I play ravengaurd, and my style is shooty, not melee-ey. However, ...
My other advice is to have at least 2 x 5 man squads of incursors, because you may need them to "reserve an area of the middleboard" so that your bikes have an open lane for early game charging at the enemy.

Also, I am curious of course, what model, online, and what unit exactly?

I found it on a site for people putting up files for 3d printers.

It's space marines mounted on cybernetic horses.

They're amazing. And, I think they're perfect for White Scars, which are based on the Mongol hordes.
