Just more or less got a Ad Mech Army over Xmas/Birthday.

Question, for casual gaming vs friends(will never be tournaments or serious) are 6 Robots too much for Ad Mech really or is it perfectly fine and a bit of fun?

Lot of points in a 2k list!!

Maybe a bit much if you're fully buffing them for the double shooting + mortal wounds and you don't have good terrain.

If you're running punchy bots run as many as you like, because they're not that great

Since you are concernced about it, I suggest you talk to your friends as well how they think about it.

Maybe just have a game and see how they feel. Wether they are too much or not depends to big parts on your friends' army compositions as well.

Custom40k Homebrew - Alternate activation, huge customisation, support for all models from 3rd to 10th edition

Designer's Note: Hardened Veterans can be represented by any Imperial Guard models, but we've really included them to allow players to practise their skills at making a really unique and individual unit. Because of this we won't be making models to represent many of the options allowed to a Veteran squad - it's up to you to convert the models. (Imperial Guard, 3rd Edition)

I would run 4 punch and 2 shoot boys and I think that would be fine.

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"

"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"

Ah I was thinking from my perspective.

Didnt think/consider it might be a bit much for the opposition in a friendly environment(and thats what it is, friends/family who will play vs me for a bit of fun).

So 6 shooties is a bit over the top if not much terrain to hide behind?

2 Shooties and 4 punchies....is that in the same unit(does that work?)

Hey Vayasen,

If you have a "closed" group of friends, one of the best things you can do is talk about adjusting points for things. In early 8th edition, circa the Indexes, my IG was just straight up more powerful than my regular opponents. So I played at a 10% handicap (1350 vs their 1500) and our games were super close and exciting.

In a closed group, I find fudging points allows people to play with what they want, but sometimes they play with less, if you catch my drift.

They can all be the same unit, yes. In fact, the default loadout is the fists + flamer, and the heavy phosphor blaster guns are upgrades.

I would advise splitting the shooty/punchy bots into two units, though. You'll want to be able to move them around separately.

Have fun!
