I'm looking for a secondary army to take away the stress I have of painting my lumineth.

Orks and Goblins were my first army in the way-back... Grom the Paunch and Eltharion came as cardboard "tokens".

So, yeah, Orruks.

PS: What's a KO?

Ah... they're neat models, but Orks are always the most fun.

On one hand you have an army of identical, iron-clad soldiers with little to distinguish between them

On the other you have the Kharadrons.

Some of the smaller AoS forces can be less dynamic in options than bigger armies. This can mean that they often rely on a few limited tactics and options and units to get the job done, but in general most of them do work well even with a limited roster.

I think that they won't be boring to play ;perhaps after a year or two they might get a bit samey for you, but that's a long term consideration. Plus each month that passes means you're a month closer to a new model release. That might be a new leader, a new troop or a big second wave of models that bulks out the range with even more options.

GW is clearly on the ball with this - Slaanesh and Lumineth are getting them this year already - big updates that add a lot of diversity to those ranges. Of course not every army can come at once so others are waiting; but I'd wager most armies will get them. Heck I'd love Ossiarchs to get some new models and options in time.

One thing to keep in mind virtually entire damage output comes from guns. It's basically tau of aos. If you find idea of just shooting at enemy all game boring then ko is not for you.

Basically just like the Tau....
Except that all dwarfs CAN fight effectively (enough) in melee, you CAN ally with other things that are effective in melee, & you can ally in models to cover you in the Magic phase.
So no, not at all the Tau of AoS.

They also look cooler than Tau.

Bunch of models with 1 4/4/0/1 with couple attacks with rend does not effective melee make. You mix "has melee attacK" with "can fight effectively in melee".

But sure. Show battle report where ko units are mauling enemy in melee. If they are effective somebody would play them instead of gunlining and avoiding melee like plague.put your money where your mouth is.

Endrinriggers are perfectly decent melee unit, and until 2nd ed battletome last year, just about the only competitive KO build. Now ships have been boosted in power, so shooting with the shooty army isn't trash like it used to be, but riggers' saws are still good option.
