I bought this (see attachments) from a GW shop in Cambridge nearly 30 years ago. I would be hugely grateful if anyone could identify the item for me and let me have as much info as possible.
I think the item is lead. It's that sort of weight. The quality of modelling and paintwork are excellent. It is 48 mm in height.

if it is a gw model its from the range when they where called citadel minitures
and where made for D&D games

Definitely a miniature of some form.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say this is definitely not 30 year old citadel. Not doubting the story, but surely 3rd party.

I've just seen that you wrote that it's 48mm high - that's really huge, even more so for an older mini. Were there even non-25mm fantasy ranges in the 80ies/90ies? Or is it meant to be some kind of giant creature rather than an orc/goblin?

I can narrow it down sligtly to "not reaper P-65" which was my first guess, as apparently those were based all on existing reaper stuff and I'm not turning up any orcs like that, though stuff of legends isn't loading a lot of pics for me so its possible it was an exception. Also not seeing it on their Grenadier listing. Its probably not slottabased, given that double hill its on-- assuming theres no writing on the bottom? And assuming you bought it pre-painted and based?

That isnt the original base, looks to be resin or putty, the previous picture showed a cast mark, there is also a finger print on the edge.

It looks familiar to me, but I can't place it. I think maybe it's based on a piece of artwork from the 1980s (or possibly even late 1970s) and it's the artwork I'm remembering rather than the actual model. I'll have a look through some of my really old issues of WD and Dragon and post again if I spot it.

I thought at first it was a Nick Lund mini but am not sure now,

That's the one. The sword arm is a separate piece, so you could theoretically glue it on either way round.
