I constructed this list with the top priority being to hold objectives/durability while remaining threatening enough to properly smash threats that try to pry me off of them. I had considered saving 120 points by running pure Deathskulls and dropping the KFF mechs while saving 7 CPs from no Skarboyz/No Outrider Detachment but I think a scarier Ghaz and S5 Boyz will be superior.

I do have alot of characters which could leak alot of VPs if I am not cautious with them, but I should be able to shield them from harm against most armies. My only real concern is a heavily mechanized/and or flyer army, but even then I dont think they can win an objective game vs all my ObSec units.

Strategy is fairly universal, push 60 S5 Boyz, painboy, KFF, Ghaz or Warboss at each of the 2 middle objectives and hold my rear objective with the Mek Guns. If needed I can Da Jump a unit to protect my flank and if not use it as opportunities arise or just scare my opponent with the threat of it. Giving Ghaz/Warboss +2 S/A when the opportunity arises. Kommandos are for objective grabbing/extra bodies as needed.



Would love any ideas for improving and optimizing the list or scenarious id struggle with. Thanks!

I'd consider dropping some of the characters (1 big mek, the warboss, 1 painboy). Use those points for 2 more units of Kommandos and then either stormboyz, meganobz, more SMG, or even deffkoptas.

You can put the killa klaw on the remaining big mek and give him kleverest boss to act as a pseudo warboss.

Id love to work meganobz in though perhaps thats too rich. Ill have to mull it over some.

My concern with dropping the warboss is losing the ability to advance + charge on one side of the board. Something to think about though, appreciate it.

I forgot to mention taking the Follow Me Ladz trait on the big mek. It gives him the advance and charge aura as well as breakin heads. His offensive output will be a bit less than a warboss, but has the same auras.

In my experience you want the big blob of boyz taking up space, fighting for the middle, sitting on objectives etc. so small units like kommandoz or stormboyz can help perform actions, contest enemy objectives, or even screen your boyz when necessary.

I'd drop a painboy, a big mek and the warboss for a big in megarmor with da killa klaw and follow me ladz as a trait. The spared 90 points you could use to add more kommandos or smashas.

I'd try to spare additional 100-110 points (weirdboy and a smasha) to field 5 tellyporting meganobz though. Or an outflanking unit of tankbustas with max bomb squigs.

Part if the issue with using anything tellyporta related is I am already on 3 CPs. Id need to restructure the list entirely to make it work. The other issue is that its impossibly to fit 120 boys under 1 KFF, especially if they are split between 2 objectives making it useless since the ones without a 5+ i will be targeted down instead.

If I did go the route of meganobz id run either pure Snakebite or pure Deathskulls and drop the Painboys or mechs accordingly. This was my original build but im not sure a unit of ds meganobs is worth losing the 5 Strength boys.

Personally I don't think keeping all of the boyz under auras is worth the cost of the extra characters, but YMMV.

Assuming you modify the number of characters, you could put your smasha guns inside the same battalion.

Something like this:

Ghaz
Big mek - mega armor, KFF (warlord, killa klaw)
Weirdboy - warphead
120 boyz - each nob with a killsaw
15 kommandoz
Painboy
6 smasha gunz

Leaves you 60 points to put more killsaws on the nobs, grab another smash gun, etc. You spend 5 CP before the game with this list.

With Da Jump and terrain you shouldn't worry about KFF bubble not covering everyone, you basically need it for the footslogging 60 boyz in turns 1-2. Teleport those who are deployed out of line of sight and or out of anti infantry weapons' range.

About lack of CP: take a single detachment instead of two, the vanguard doens't even benefit from the deathskulls kultur except Obj sec on kommandos. Drop the lucky stikk for an additional CP saved. That's already 4 CPs that really don't provide you any significant bonus.

I second Dendarien's advice: his suggested list is probably the go-to for a proper and easy to play goffs horde.

Some changes to the list, reducing characters down and saving some CP. I took Proper Killy instead of Follow Me Lads because I imagine the mech will typically push the center of the board along with Ghaz and the painboy so the advance/charge doesnt really seem worth it.

I swapped the Smashas out for KMC and put them in a Grot clan for the 6++ and reroll 1s.

I like the grot mobs for mek gunz, but I think having only 6 isn't worth the cost of 2 CP.

If you want to run a grot mobs detachment, I'd drop them back to SMG and try and run at least 9 to get value out of the reroll ones.

Maybe something like this:

I originally had smasha guns but after mathhammering it against a T8 3+ target, 9x smasha guns would deal 13.86 wounds. 6x KMCs would deal 26.95 wounds.
