I've read through it a couple times now, and I think the Crusade rules for the Drukhari are good enough to be their own minigame. Obviously, you pull Crusade content from as many sources as you need to flesh it out to your tastes, but the territory rules are really cool.

Two Drukhari players with 25 PL each could fight small skirmish Crusades against each other for dominance in Commorragh, but team up with each other to go on realspace raids against other factions. There's just so much there to work with- between your warlord's personal battle honours, the Ascendant Lord/ Territorial dominance game, the potential to evolve to Master level, the capacity to fight in Commorragh for the interests of the subfaction vs. fighting in realspace for the faction as a whole- it's really easy to represent a very unique and nuanced force.

If I hadn't already been converted to Crusade play, this dex definitely would have opened my eyes.

I am really really looking forward to gsc crusade rules.

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"

"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"

Right?

It seems every book that comes out pushes the limits of what they can do with that system.

I think Sisters are going to have really good Crusade content too- like if your unit gets wiped out, you take a penitent vow instead of getting a battle scar. Or if you mess up really badly, they strap you to a mortifier. Not to mention the pursuit of Living Sainthood. Martyrdom could also become a mechanic...

Did you mean Space Marines? Because Guard... don’t have that many options.

Clocks for the clockmaker! Cogs for the cog throne!
