Hi guys i hope i could get a bit of healp
Me and my friends ben playing Warhammer 40k And Mordheim for a time
and we want to get in to Age os Sigmar.
But dont realy know how to do it. We want to make 4. 1k list to play but love to get
healps , tips how to do it. We know what faction we would love to start but we are clueless
at how to make a list.

List 1 : Cities Of Sigmar . I relly would love a great focus on Pistoliers but Find them hard to put in a 1k List
List 2: Death : My friend loves Skeletons and vampires , maybe its the easiest list to put togheter
List 3 : Skaven : My friends Love Skaventide and Enshin Armys and we have a romantic Love on jezzails but have no cluee how that comes togheter or it can come thogeter.
List 4 : Beastman Brayheard : One of may friend only play Beastman in mordhem and we have quite a few Gors Ungors And bestigors Centigors unbuilt in boxes and i relly want to use emup.

For now we dont relly have a cost limit but we also have no clue how to make AoS army lists .
We would appreciate any healp we could get .
And Sorry for the strange request

Hey Bigbadwolfi, welcome to the mortal realms!

I can help with a few of these questions.

Firstly, a really handy tool is the free AoS app. It has the free rules, all the warscrolls for the units (their datasheets) for free, and then you can pay a really cheap subscription to build army lists in it, and can buy the Battletomes (codexes) really cheap within the app’s library store too.

I assume you’ll want to be playing with points, so if you and your friends want to, you can purchase the latest General’s handbook which has all the rules in it for matched play. The army Battletomes are also full of the usual stuff you’d find in a 40K codex too, I.e. relics, warlord traits, spell lores, faction/sub-faction rules, etc. but of course you don’t need to buy any of that to test out the game, as you can find the free core rules and datasheets in the app.

To answer some of your other questions about factions:

1) Cities of Sigmar is a really fun army. I’m not hugely knowledgeable about how good pistoliers are, but for 1k you’d probably be able to fit a couple of 5 man units or one 10 man unit in a 1k list and still have room for a General and a pair of Battleline choices.

2) If your friend loves Skellies and Vamps he should hold on before buying anything because the latest army GW have announced and started showing off is updated Skellies and Vamps

I can’t really help with the other 2 questions, I don’t really have a lot of experience with those armies. I have heard a lot about beastmen being a little bad to play right now, unless you use a bunch of their Tzeentch units. That said, I’m sure they’d perform fine in a friendly environment, which seems the way with you guys if I had to guess.

Hopefully this helps! If you have any other specific questions or general things you wanna ask, or want things expanded on, let me know and I’ll see if I can help more.

We would only play for fun for some times. Want to see and learn the Game so Wonky Armys are not a problem
So Beastman weaknes is not realy a problem for us i think

But we dont relly want to make a list that overwhelmingly Stronger than the others .
That would ruin the learning ad fun for all of us

I agree, me and my mates play chill games for fun, and sometimes armies can be a little overwhelming for other armies. But if you tweak the lists you’ll be able to get a sweet spot where you all have a fighting chance. Just like 40K, AoS isn’t particularly well balanced. You probably know by now GW aren’t great at that haha. But overall it’s not too bad when you put together fun lists and fight amongst friends. And it’s a really fun game overall, we enjoy it more than 40K.

One thing I will say though, I’d suggest house ruling away the random turn roll. Me and my friends have found it to be much more detrimental than exciting.

So here’s a 1k list focused on Pistoliers. Has a few other little duders in there along with a General on a gryphon to lead them.

Heroes
- Freeguild General on Gryphon

Battleline
- 20x Freeguild Guard
- 10x Handgunners
- 10x Handgunners

Other
- 5x Pistoliers
- 10x Pistoliers (or 2 more units of 5)

Total: 980pts

Not sure if this is the kind of list you’re looking for? Did you want a bigger focus on cavalry or are there other units/races you wanted to implement?

It gets better than that. There's city(tempest storm I think it was) that gives you pistoliers as battleline

Cant' give good list as I have never faced pistoliers. All I have faced is halberdier&handgunner or hammerer&handgunner styled lists. But for example steam tank commander, cogsmith, 15 pistoliers, 10 swordsmen(hold objectives/screen), gyrocopter, 2 hellstorm batteries would fit just fine. Bit thin(as in not at all) on melee though...

Not easily. Issue is jezzails are skyre, eshin troops are...well eshin. 2 different clans so can't use either guys as battleline as you need only one clan keyword for non-warlord for that. Which means you need 2(3 in 2k) clanrat and/or stormvermin units. Something like this could work though:

Allegiance: Skaventide
Grey Seer (140)
40 x Clanrats (200)
- Rusty Spear
20 x Stormvermin (200)
- Halberd
10 x Gutter Runners (120)
1 x Ratling Gun (60)
6 x Warplock Jezzails (280)

Total: 1000 / 2000
Extra Command Points: 0
Allies: 0 / 400
Wounds: 90

Agreed on above regarding death. Seeing they are about to get updated soonish(within 3 months) I would wait for that at least until big investement. Okay some skeletons safe to buy if you want to field them as skeleton is skeleton so unless you really hate old look and love new look no harm getting some now(if nothing else adds variety to the new 5 or 10 mono poses that gets repeated multiple times) but full army now would be risky investment.

And yes beastmen are in tricky position right now so keep in mind that and don't tune up others too much or beastmen will be having hard time.

Yeah tought so that it will be hard to make a list for Skaven. But nice list there man . We dont relly understand how the Skaven clans work right now. The only thing for sure is that we dont realy like Moulder and prestilence clans and we love Enshin becouse Mordheim Games

Nice list thanks , im not realy that interested on cavalry focused list. I like the concept and looks of the Pistoliers and also have a bit of Black Powder fetish .

Also yeah maybe we wait whit the Death army a bit to see what the new army will look like
But my friend says that if it will be to hard to make an amry he would be happy for 1 vampire 1 necromancer and 140 Zombies XD

Basically skaven have 2 generic battlelines. Clanrats and stormvermins. You can build skaven army by having minimum battlelines from those and then you can mix all clans at will points allowed. Alternatively if you have masterclan or clan specific warlord AND all units(besides warlord) have that specific clan keyword you can take clan specific unit(s) as battleline. So eshin general(or masterclan) and all units have eshin keyword you can take night runners or gutter runners as battleline. But you couldn't take warplightning cannon for example as that doesn't have eshin keyword. Skryre similarly unlocks skyryre acolutes and stormfiends as battleline. But again you can't take non-skryre units so no gutter runners for example.

In 1k game you need 2 battleline so as cheapest option you have 2x10 stormvermin for 200 pts. Alternatively 2x20 clanrat for 240 pts. Though clanrats you probably want full 40 sized unit for just 200 pts. But 400 pts to clanrats in 1k game would eat up points pretty fast.

In practice I see pestilens and skryre builds out of clan specific. Eshin ones I have never seen anybody field.

Thats a bit sad. I think Eshin is one of the more interesting clans out there.

Problem is lack of unijs. When your army consists of 2 units(night runners and gutter runners), 2 characters(assasin and eshin verminlord) and 6 other characters you can choose as warlord(several being vermin lords) there's...not much optloes. Could work in smaller game i suppose but very repeative. Thus they work better as part of mixed army.
