If I understand correct if I want to start a Chaos Demons army and have demons from all 4 chaos gods in the army I have to pay CP to have the multiple detachments

So losing the CP means you can spend them on buffing your army but is it more fun to be able to play a diverse army?

Or does spending all your CP before the games start make it boring cos your opponent can destroy you

I think the problems of the daemons army are rather unique and can't be generalized for other armies in the same way. No other army loses anything if they use more than a fourth of their codex.

I expect GW to fix the chaos undivided problem with either the codex and/or the Be'lakor supplement.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

Most of the 9th ed Daemon armies I've looked at only use 1 or 2 detachments.

So I don't think too many people are going omni-God, and this is probably an answer to the OPs question.

The question really is, if there is no competitive value in going multi or omni god, is there enjoyment value?

Depends on your local meta. If you have fun / close games with your fellow players, it doesn't matter that you couldn't win a tournament with the list.

Custom40k Homebrew - Alternate activation, huge customisation, support for all models from 3rd to 10th edition

Designer's Note: Hardened Veterans can be represented by any Imperial Guard models, but we've really included them to allow players to practise their skills at making a really unique and individual unit. Because of this we won't be making models to represent many of the options allowed to a Veteran squad - it's up to you to convert the models. (Imperial Guard, 3rd Edition)

An all four gods list is questionable yeah but I'm pretty sure getting Nurglings as your troops in an otherwise Tzeentch army is worth giving up "1's to hit auto-fail in the fight phase".

Not really. Most of the gods specific units are redundant to each other and there is no interaction between them. Essentially there is just "big guy, hits hard", "many small guys, hit lots of times" and "fast guys, hit semi-hard" for each god, so mixing them doesn't really change a lot about the army. If your enjoyment comes from just watching a beautiful army roll down the field, more power to you, but there is little to nothing gained here from a pure gameplay perspective. Almost all cool things are locked into one god.

The statment seems to be wrong, considering one of the stronger builds chaos player had in 9th was a demon/csm soup. It gets for a few other armies in 9th too,CWE as part of soups place high on a more or less regular basis.

But maybe the last rules update changed that. Have not seen a single chaos player since it came out, along side the DE codex.

If you have to kill, then kill in the best manner. If you slaughter, then slaughter in the best manner. Let one of you sharpen his knife so his animal feels no pain.
