Hi all,

Just finished a video reviewing the new Late Roman Legionaries kit from Wargames Atlantic, video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zod-PSqg1wY

Here are some comparison shots of how they compare with other ancients, I'll also have more data on the component details soon but for now I can reveal the kit has over 350 components and makes 24 minis.

While I don't think they stack up against Victrix Romans (see the face comparison shot, that's not blurry it's actually what it looks like) the bodies are excellent filler troops for heavily armored barbarian factions, maybe even Vikings and Normans if you get creative. I found the shields and sheathed swords a little too large (picture shows shield almost covers entire model) but spears and drawn swords were fantastic. Also liking the new plumbatae weapon

Oh my, what happened to the faces?
But the rest looks good, thanks for the review!
Those are on the to-buy-list, but for me, the main usefulness of this set depends on the forthcoming army builder set. Without that, it's to expensive.

Brilliant pictures thank you for those.

It must be a QC problem with the faces as I can't believe that they were painted that way. Prob worth asking wargames atlantic for comment.

Yea I might contact them directly, they have commented on my YT review (at least I'm pretty sure it was them) about the shields but nothing about the heads.

Looking closely at their site I think they might be the same but well painted enough that it doesn't really matter: https://wargamesatlantic.com/collections/all/products/late-roman-legionaries-1-lorica-hamata
