Is there a SM strat that gives +1MW on wound rolls of 6? Or something similar?

SM in general only get extra hits or auto-wounds on rolls of six. The only exception is the ravenwing warlord trait, but it's melee only.

If any unit does do mortal wounds on sixes, it's on the datasheet itself.

Edit: Ah, and there is a salamanders stratagem for flamers and meltas.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.

I wouldn't go chasing mortal wounds, it's nice when they happen but you're better off getting consistent damage through your opponents armour.

Statistics will say you should get a certain number of 6's but the dice goes are fickle and on occasion spiteful.

Not sure what Ravenwing warlord trait you're referring to.

Thanks for the non-sequitur on how to play & statistics that doesn't address the question asked.

indeed for all we know the guy was asking because he played a space marine guy who tried to claim "I have a WT trait and lets me inflict mortal wounds on..."

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

Maybe the guy that was asking could clear that up?
