The kickstarter is just a printed dinosaur, what makes this creator special is the animations that he aims to fund from the kickstarter, linked a couple here they're very much worth seeing

Spinos are cool and anyone still sore after 20 years needs to not be.

not that the actual spino has anything do to with the movie one (but then again, that's any dino and it's JP equivalent)

I just noticed this thing is 45cm long and costs $45. That's kinda insane tbh, this guy clearly doesn't know what the baseline charge for boutique / GW standard has been for the past few decades. That's like a $500+ product according to some sellers /Edit - I'm gonna buy one, normally I wouldn't but I like this guy's videos and my nephew will love this, for $45 I can't see a reason no to. /Edit 2 - oh actually idk, the video says this thing is gonna be pvc? Ok so maybe not a miniature and more like a toy?? I'll have to read the whole page to find out I suppose.

I feel almost ashamed, but trolling T-Rex fans has been my other satisfying hobby for those 20 years! Actually, I'd better behave myself otherwise the mods will be havin' words...

But these models look really nice.

I heard there's something called a Giganotosaurus that's slightly bigger than a T-rex.

There are a number of Theropods that were bigger than T.Rex. Rexy just has the notoriety. As for the scientific accuracy of Spinosaurus, that's still hotly contested among Palaeontologists.

even when viewed on screen in JP3 it was hard for 14 year old me to belive anyone could look at those two critters models and conclude the Rex would lose. sure Spinosaurs was TALLER, but the Rex's BULK was just so much greater....

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

The fight should have been over the second Rex had it's jaws around Spino's neck. Although fun fact about the movie, apparently when they recorded that fight, Spino's model absolutely demolished the Rex's one during the filming.

To be fair the jurassic park movies should be taken with a pinch of salt, as they were made 50/50 between "realism" and a love for the classic Ray Harryhausen films. The later would mostly win out, as certain dinosaurs were changed for dramatic effect.

That Spino scene is inspired by The 7th Voyage of Sinbad, where Kerwin Mathews and Kathryn Grant are caught between a Dragon and a Cyclops. They escape from the Dragon( spinosaurus ) only to run straight into a Cyclops( Rex ), and then retreat back towards the Dragon. After a bit of roaring at each other the two giants do battle, with the Cyclops first putting the Dragon in a headlock( the Rex bites first ), who then shrugs him off and proceeds to own his sorry ass by going for the jugular. The Cyclops dies and then the Dragon boasts his awesome victory before chasing Kerwin and Kat down to the beach where a giant crossbow( Marines & Navy ) was lying in wait.

Sadly, while the tanks showed up, the Spinosaurus had read the script and said "sod this for a game of soliders" and decided not to. Which was a bit crap, I must say.

But once again these models look good and the animations are pretty good too.
