Subject: Question about Stegadon in Thunder Lizards

The Thunder Lizards faction may take Stageadon as Battleline, does that somehow remove the behemoth tag? I've seen some lists floating around that have stegadons in the "Troops" slot of a warlord battalion and as I read things that shouldn't work, am I missing something?

It does. If a unit has a conditional battlefield role it overrides the base battlefield role. See rule 25.5.1.

And in GHB doesn't have to be even conditional battleline. Just battleline is enough
This difference means there are some corner cases with sons of behemath that you can actually have GHB matched play army illegal in rulebook matched play

In GHB being Behemoth + Battleline just doesn't count towards Behemoth limits, but is fully Behemoth (and therefore ineligible for the core battalions mentioned). Unless I'm misreading something in the Pitched Battle battlepack?

If something goes from being behemoth to "battleline" it is just battleline. When a unit becomes battleline but also remains a behemoth they write it as "behemoth, battleline".

Not talking about battalions. Talking about flat out how many you can take. List that has right # in ghb has too many in core rulebook pack. Regardless of battalions it's illegal.
